^That's awesome but wheres the screen in front of the ps3?

All is plugged in the amp, I just move the screen around. When I only had my PC hooked up to it I had my CRT in front of the steering and just switched primary display in windows. But for the ps3 I use the lcd.

As for speaker location. I have no excuse lol. I was too lazy to move the shelfs.

I did measure speaker locations using a dolby setup thing I had found.

Just put my speakers on some stands... much better sound quality and less precarious :D

Also Zero Gear is AWESOME!

My setup really hasn't changed since 2009. Pretty good for a 12 Year Old:

When I was 12 years old, I had a packard bell with a pentium 133 MHz and all I could play was starcraft and maybe half life 1. How times have changed!

When I was twelve I didn't even have a computer, let alone any sort of nice stereo. How times have changed.

When I was 12 I only knew what the inside of a computer looked like because mine had a window on it. Then I got the AMD version of that Dell for my 13th birthday.

I was sitting on some p4 dell back when I was 12. It was so awesome back then. Was the computer for the whole family and we had dial up so it really couldn't do all that much. But still, I will say again, it was awesome.

My guess is his Dad finally upgraded his old sound system and gave the old equipment to the kid. :p

Lol nah, but in all seriousness, that is a nice setup for a 12 year old. I sure as hell didn't have anything like that when I was his age!

You are right my about dad giving me some speakers. He game me the bottom receiver and two of the big speakers. I bought 2 of the other big speakers at a garage sale. The top receiver is a pioneer vsx-518, that I bought with my own $.
They look like Crapcandys
Yes, they are "crapcandys". I got them on my 10th Birthday because I thought they were good then. Now, one side of my headphones are broken and the other side barley plays. I don't suggest you get them.

I have studied the inside of a computer for about a year. I have alrady replaced my video card and all the memory for every computer in my whole house. With my birthday money, plus the money I have saved up now, I am probably going to build my first (i7) rig.

So many speakers so little sense lol
I can barley put up the sound on low. After that, I can hear my room shaking. A little after that, my parents complain. On medium volume, things in my first floor start to vibrate.

I use for a teamspeak & ventrilo server. if anyone want's to hop on just PM me for the IP

When i was 12 i believe i had a 286/12mhz with 1mb or ram and a 4gb hard drive.
Used to play game like Trade Wars on BBS's (Wiki it kids) ;)

Damn I'm feeling old now.

Heck yeah man, BBS's were the big thing back in the day, I miss um.

My first machine was a P5 233mhz w/ 64mb ram. Currently using it as a secondary server.

Here is my workstation. I just replaced my shitty ikea jerker because it was wearing out. Oh and the speakers are only like that because the amp died on me. I'm still searching for a replacement.

Specs are in my sig for the two desktops. Yes, one of them has an oak front bezel.

I think there is a sticker overload on this page. Too be honest, the system I was using when I was 12 was quite good when I got it new in 2004, but I did keep it until 2007 pretty much unchanged (Apart replacing the CRT with 15" LCD and adding 256MB RAM)

Ryapo.jpg

Athlon 2400+ 2GHz
512MB DDR (256MB in that Photo)
80GB IDE Drive
Nvidia Geforce FX5200 128MB
17" 1280x1024 Relisys CRT
Windows XP

I guess it belongs in the Post your Workstation 2004 thread. If it makes any more appropriate I still have the PC (Minus the CRT which died a few years back).

nice clean setup Nuke :) why so many laptops ?!!?

when i was twelve i had: AMD Athlon 2800+, 512mb memory, 40 GB Hitachi drive, ATI All-In-Wonder 2006(a Radeon 9600 in disguise!), win 2000, 19" CRT which graduated to a 19" WS LCD(still in use as 2nd monitor now), heck that PC is still running was my server now is my sisters temp computer LOL.....

beavis, nice TS server :) you must have good internet up speeds.....

I was gifted a the HP by my sister. it wasn't running properly, need cleaning badly and has two keys missing. I replaced the hard drive from another broken laptop that was again gifted to me. It works perfect now. Albeit, it is from 2003... The toshiba is my school computer, I don't use it much other than that.

When I was twelve, I had a pentium 1 200MHz, 128MB ram, 1.3GB HD and integrated graphics. That was in 2002. My upgrade at sixteen was a 800MHz P3 with two 80GB and one 160BG hard drives. I currently use the system as a file server. At eighteen or so I purchased my current Q9450 rig. What a difference. LOL

Awesome industrial look. Really distinct.

Would you mind discussing the desk? Did you do the fabrication completely yourself? Is the top solid concrete?
Yes I did do all the fabrication of the desk, other than the welding on the legs, which my dad did. I used cheap 1x2's as a form and were set on a sheet of plastic. Because of the thickness of the concrete (1.5") it needed to be reinforced with rebar and chickenwire. Two types of concrete were used, regular concrete mix as a base and for a smoother surface sandmix was used on the top. Then as the concrete was drying, dry black grout was sprinkled and troweled into the surface to make it darker. After about two weeks of slow drying, the top was waxed using a heavy minwax paste wax and buffed to a light shine.

The frame was constructed out of 1 1/2 x 1/8 angle iron that was cut and welded together. Only the two ends were welded together, the longer stabilizer bars are bolted to the the welded pieces. This allows the frame to be taken apart and moved with ease. But I doubt that will be happening since the top is 200+ pounds.

I'm glad you like it, and feel free to ask any questions.

I helped my dad construct a very similar table for his stereo when I was a kid. When we sold that house we had to leave it behind because the damn thing was over a thousand pounds. I imagine it's probably still there today.

Anyway, nice work.

what's the anime(s) your posters, pictures and figures?

Just remodeled my computer room earlier this week. Downgraded my dad's desk so that I could fit my two new showcases :p. Oh well, he can't complain, the last computer he had to buy was that old HP on the shelf in the picture.

And before people start making comments about the knives/flashlights, they are always there. I grab one of each before leaving the house.

When I turned 12, Intel had just introduced the 8 bit 8085 CPU. 8 track tapes and CB radios were the rage. Being sent to your room was considered solitary confinement..

Whats with all this "when I was 12 " posts? Sounds like half the board has hit midlife crisis.

Well my two bits...when I was 12 there were barely any computers let alone PCs. When I was 16 I was punching holes in cards to send to the school board computer. When I was 18 some unknown company named Apple made something called an Apple II. Back then the languages were Cobol and Waterloo Fortran IV or WATFIV. As if anybody cares.

@jtvd78...looks like a nice setup. Good luck on your Core i7 build mate.

I played Tradewars like mad!!! Picked up that scout ship that could move like 200 turns and hacked the holds to get 900 holds :p
