Lol, I had that keyboard before I switched to my Logitech Illuminated.

Felt great but wanted a smaller, thinner profile design.

All the school computers here have those, and they're terrible.

The spacebar uses a plastic piece to guide the left/right halfs and it's never solid.

So you get a wobbly space-bar that doesn't work unless you hit it dead-center. Which defeats the point of the spacebar being as wide as it is (to allow multiple fingers to hit the same key / hit it without as much percision).

Annoying when you type fast like me, I usually use my right thumb, but on those keyboards I have to just rest my left thumb over the center and use that, makes it awkward.

Those Dell keyboards are a pain in the ass to type in. My school also use them, the keys are tight and very hard to type fast with.

I've almost considered bringing in my own keyboard and just plugging it into the USB port, we have the space haha... and the mouses are those standard dell mice that accumulate tons of crap on the bottom and don't slide very well.

I just do most of my work on my home computer though, nice chair, big monitor, nice keyboard/mouse, no distractions etc. :D

And the speed.. My school computers are still P4s...

My setup. Used to be one of the best systems 2yrs ago. I've been out of the computer world since late 07. Not too sure whats up with the current hardware.

Ah yeah, that's just the Dell keyboard that came with my Dad's computer. The only reason I'm using that is I need some new batteries for my wireless aluminium keyboard. I prefer flat laptop like keys instead of the ones on that Dell.

@jamescardenas07 - May not be the best anymore, but you've kept that system very nice and tidy :D

Yea, well our school is specific to computer game programming... and it's sad they still have computers like that. But there are a lot of them compared to the number of students. There are like 4 rooms without computers, and then like 9 computer labs. with anywhere from 30-40 to 100 computers in one room. Ratio of computers to students is like ~1:3 (1 computer for every 3 students) and we're not all trying to use them at the same time so it's a good ratio.

The Seniors/Masters get slightly faster computers with E7500's, 4GB ram, and 9600Gt's I think, better monitors/keyboards all that stuff. haha.

But most people just have gaming laptops / use their home computers. We're not required to use stuff here except for labs if you don't have a laptop... even then it's been text-based programming, nothing that required 3D stuff... once you get to that level you're on the better systems. But hopefully they scrap all this and get new systems because a basic dual-core with 9600GT or equivalent is like $250-300 at most... and considering how much it costs to go to this school, they could tack on a $100 per year tech fee and people wouldn't even notice... but they would notice the new computers that don't run like shit on 3D games :D Seriously, we had a LAN here once and those computers were limited to Starcraft, the other systems got TF2/L4D (Given to use by Valve for the LAN) and UT3...

Rambling.

That one looks clean! Haha thats tight. How much weight can they hold?

The clean one not so much, it was designed for shoes. You can make very strong cardboard furniture though, in this video at 1:57 there is a lady jumping up and down on a cardboard chair.

How long did it take you to make?

First one took about a week. Second one maybe 2, I forget, wasn't as diligent. I documented the build on the first one sort of.

Someone please tell me where to get this wallpaper. :)

Here you go.

Haha, sounds like you've had quite the relationship with those keyboards. Thanks for pointing out it was a Dell and is pretty repulsive. Figured it resembled the ABS M1 and functioned the same. I do like how it looks though.

I've had a few of those before. I didn't think it was really a bad keyboard. Just not the best. Definitely looks nice on a desk. (at least better than the older round top dell keyboard I'm using)

First post, decided this would be a good spot. Found this site by seaching the 932 HAF case, because I just got one. Slowly buying parts to complete my first build.
This pic is slightly dated, I happen to have that awesome illuminated Logitech keyboard that I see is popular here. :D So this is my before pic, early next year I will have a new computer and a new desk.

Nice shotty. :)

Hey Ewottaja, what monitor is that, I like the Samsung monitors with that blue LED on/off light or w/e, I hate how mine has a red finish with an orange light :(

I upgraded some stuff such as
Vista to Windows 7
DSL to Comcast!

switched the keyboard tray for its actual purpose,
this way I won't be sitting too close to my computer monitor like how my previous setup does. Also there is less clutter on the computer side of the desk, more space radius for my speakers to orchestrate sound (supposedly).

@BikerTrash Please tell me that gun isn't real or at the very least is not normally stored like that.

Ok. I live in the country. This summer I had a fox coming around and killed two of my chickens, so the gun was at the ready. I never did get him, the chickens are "cooped up" for the winter, and the gun is now in my safe.
Now, back to workstations I can drool over.

*EDIT: Thanks Ewottaja

corry29, What laptop mouse is that?

Razer Orochi

Yup :)

yeah it is. and its on my Xmas list :D

It's a really good laptop mouse, it really is, I like the pouch that comes with it too :)

Is it really small? Shoot I wanna use it for my desktop cus I havent seen a mouse look that clean before!

I absolutely HATED the Razer Mamba for the 2-3 months I put up with it. It doesn't work well with the IceMat surfaces and then the damned scroll wheel developed a really annoying squeek everytime I scrolled down. Razer's customer service and RMA process was far from stellar as well - I had to bug them for over a month just for them to replace the damned thing. It was only about 6-7 months old.

No more Razer products for me anytime in the near future!!!

seems Razer is a mixed bag of quality - some people swear by their stuff and others make retching noises at the mention of their name... never tried any razer product, so I don't really know what to think :p
