So I have no control over the download?
I've misplaced my key so I hope it re-appears on it's own soon!
If you have a code that came with an ATI card, you can reactivate it on steam and it will let you download Dirt2. It will tell you the code has already been activated then lets you download, but still won't show in My Games. Next go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common and wait for the Dirt2 folder to be 10.5gb then run dirt2.exe. No key is needed unless you want to sign into live, which isn't necessary.

I misplaced mine too :/
Alt tab doesn't work
Steam Overlay doesn't work
My product key from ATI won't work with G4WL so I can't play online
Game still isn't in My Games in Steam.
GTX 280
Wow, I was waiting to get a 5850/5870 before I played this but it looks and plays fantastic on my GTX 260. Average fps was 71 and minimum was 55 at 1680x1050 with everything set to high except Post Processing which was Medium.
My 'Dirt 2 Not Yet Released' icon is back in My Games. (The game is installed and I've been playing it for days. Just can't save the progress.)
Where in the registry is it located? Thanks
Yes but the 5870's are running DX11 with tessellation which has a significant hit in FPS. Run the 5870 in DX9 mode for an apples to apples comparison and see if it's anywhere close.
As to playability, I don't think anyone claimed that a 58xx series card was going to be necessary for good performance. Dirt2 is not THAT intensive. It is still afterall, a console port.
I doubt the dx11 and dx9 differences are factors in the overall look of the game. They probably go unnoticeable to the gamer....unless you are comparing screenshots. So why even run it at dx11 with such a significant performance hit?
Is it just because you have a dx11 card you feel the need to run it at dx11?

So are there any major benefits to playing this game in DX10?
First of all, my post was in regards to peroformance. You seemed to think they performed equally well when infact they don't.
Secondly, You had one too, don't be bitter just becuase you made a foolish mistake. The fact of the matter is, I can have my cake and eat it too. There IS a difference and I CAN run it in DX11 mode while maintaining very good performance. You cannot.
Actually I can't run any game, I have on board graphics at the moment, lol. I don't regret getting rid of the 5850. I'm just pointing out that dx11 probably isn't worth the performance hit. Feel free to post some screenshots of dirt 2 in dx9 vs. dirt 2 in dx11. I really would like to see the difference.
Fixed. There's no DX10 for Dirt 2.
There was a review done with some pretty good comparison shots. They speak for themselves
