There are pictures and event coverage of the DreamHack Winter Festival 2009 posted today on the official site. The built in translator doesn’t seem to be working right now but, if all you want to do is check out the pictures, here’s the photostream on Flickr.
 
I dont even wanna know the cable setup for a network like that... miles of cable everywhere....
 
It had to smell pretty bad in there. Like BO + hot pockets, I bet.

Still probably a lot of fun.
 
I remember back in High School hearing about a HUGE LAN called "The Gathering" and man, I wanted to go so bad.

One day, I want to go to one of these! The ones in America suck fat donkey schlong.

BTW-whatever happened to LAN parties? They were the shit :(

Broadband and torrent happened me thinks, but I sure miss hanging out the old local LAN
 
If things go well at the years end, I should be attending this next year during the summer one.:)
 
Looks like pc gaming is dead there lol. I would have loved to play a show there... Hell just play a game there lol.

Always preferred small LANs - swearing at the person across the room or trying to save their ass in a game was more fun that way !
 
We had a some local people setting up LANs for the last few years. It started off at a Holiday Inn banquet room with a few hundred people and the slowed down until it was most recently hosted at the guys place of work which had a room to use. The number dropped to less than 60 and now they have stopped organizing them all together. I sure do miss all the raffles and good times.

Pearland (sub in Houston area) had LAN parties every month back in 2000-2003 (when I went). I had cable modem at home, and played regularly with my Q3 clan, but I still loved going to LAN parties, and spending a whole day (9am ~ midnight) in a dark hall with a buncha unruly (in a fun way) guys (yeah, a sausage fest), cases of Bawls and pizza...:p
Even though I'm married, with kids, house and all the "fun" stuff that goes along with growing up (or old), I'd still love to LAN party hard at least once every few months...
Good'ole times!!!!

Can you imagine the electric bill? Ouch. I've been shutting my home server off to save electricity.
