Sigh, just started playing some CoD4 on my PC again and levelled up nicely, (level 22 atm). So I join this server I've played on a few times recently. I do well, I kill and get about 3:1 kd ratio. One guy calls me out saying I'm wall hacking... so I told him to spec me, do whatever he wants cause I don't hack whatsoever. After a few more deaths from me, he changes his name to the admin of the server and bans me permanently.

What gives? friggen ban happy admins. :mad:

So now I'm probably banned from all punkbuster servers. Seriously, idiotic admins make me /facepalm
 
nah he has to record it then send the video to punkbuster before they put him on the PBban list.. and everyone has to be using PBstreaming which most servers dont because its a pain in the ass to setup..

its just typical admins that dont know shit and base everything on your level in game which means nothing since its the same crap we do in quake wars after we all finish the achievements completely we create another account and play the game again to see if we can get all the achievements faster then the time before.. keeps the game interesting..
 
12 year old kids that pay for servers on their parents credit cards, more common than you think.

this is why i hate playing any game on servers that want $10 donations and with that you get admin rights!

Stupidest idea ever cause then you end up with everyday people who have no idea how to admin, banning people because god forbid!!! they may be better then the admin, power hungry punks casuse it makes them all tingly inside knowing, to them, they banned a hacker and i am sure they brag about it after, and if you question the admin, they will ban you too!

As i always say, play on clan servers.

Yep.

There was a CS Source server I use to frequent with a number of friends. One day out of nowhere I got banned. My friends flew off the handle at the admins but to no avail. To this day I'm still banned on the server. They want a donation to unban me and I told them to shove it where the sun don't shine.

It was indeed a little punk ass admin that banned me. He just got sick of getting killed by me every round and decided to call it hacking.
 
I still get banned to this day from CS:S servers and it sucks. Every time I find a good community with people to play around my skill level with it always dies after a couple months. Which leaves me to jump around to random servers run by 12 year old r-tards that will just ban me because I do well lol. Of course it not hard when all you have to do is mute them in the players list so you can play and actually be able to hear whats going on around you.
 
Congratulations, this is the life of every good player that enters a pub.

When people don't know how to play well, they can't even conceive of the possibility that you're just that good. They don't know how it's done. They haven't seen it and can't believe it. Just move on to another server. Try to find a server to visit regularly and get to know the clan there.
 
Yeah and the funny thing is, the round before that I was playing VERY badly. I didn't see him banning or complaining then.

This reminds me of back in the day how I got banned on two local servers (my own city!), because I was killing people with awp (heh :p), and you can see through the cracks of stairs when people walk by.. they accused me of hacking. Of course nobody ever bothers to spectate and just goes on a banning rampage :(.

Ah well, just had to rant because I've seen this happen more than once now. Oh and I was playing on a "clan" server.. the guy was a huge ass. He's also the admin of the website/servers.
 
very good players getting kicked/banned is a fact of life
but I think it goes a long way if you dont try to talk smack and show up the admins
I usually fly under the radar
 
I have only been banned once, in BF2 i came flying over a hill in a vehicle and ran over the server admin who was on my team lol.

ya it sucks, find a good clan server where only clan members are admins and play there. Ive been accused of hacking before on clans servers and the admins tell the other person that if they keep screaming hacks at people wiht no proof they will ban him instead lol

That's not quite how it works. There is Punkbuster, the product from Evenbalance, and then there is PBBans and Punksbusted, both which are just groups of volunteers that use Punkbuster to enforce their own ban lists.

Evenbalance isn't gonna give a shit if you are cheating beyond a kick and a 5 min ban from that server.

Now if that server admin is set up to stream to PB Bans or Punksbusted and Punkbuster detected a hack, you will end up on their banlist and you will be banned from all Punksbusted and PBBans member servers. He could also submit a Punkbuster Framebuffer screen dump (not a screenshot) and it could be voted on. Most often, all the framebuffer votes I have seen are voted inconclusive or put on watch list.

You won't end up on the banlist just cause some punk decided you were hacking.

Setting up a server with PBBans is completely automatic through your control panel on their website. Punksbusted used to be a hassle... I haven't had a server with them for a year or so, but it was a pain in the ass.

I remember playing BF2 once and basically the admin was camping the tank the whole time and I stole it once, I drove it like 20 feet and I was banned from the server, I lol at that one looking back.

this is indeed the mentality of a lot of players and it's ridiculous. i've been banned from 2 severs in COD4 because of douchebag admins that have fragile egos and can't accept getting worked by another player. we've all had games where we kept getting dominated by the same player. a rational person accepts this as playing against a skilled opponent, but it seems as soon as admin rights are awarded all rationale gets thrown out the window.
 
I was never super good at CS:S but was pretty decent. When awake or in the right mood I could do well. Got me banned a few times. I found a great server with a good community and I hung out there from then on. Highly skilled players who knew how to play and were not ban happy unless you broke the rules.

Hard to find those servers but when you do its a great place to play. Same with TF2 and every game really.

Donations for admins can be good, its a way to encourage people to try and get involved in the server they play on. However it usually ends up in kids with no obligations and no maturity getting admin and not doing the job.

Not excusing the ban, but this is actually very common actions from those who do hack to try and keep the heat off them and not make it as obvious. More common than you think.

The community I'm with, it either has to be obvious or video proof for ban. Though, in your instance, it sounds like the admin was the one with the suspicious activity.
 
No man, I was barely keeping a 1:1 ratio, I somehow kept running into random nade throws, and my team wouldn't listen to me to take out the helicopter, we got killed so many times from that.

I guess I can see some people trying to do that if they hack, but why bother? That takes the fun out of the game. Hacking or cheating in an FPS gives me zero satisfaction. You're not even playing at that point!

Pretty sure everyone rages an admin at some point in their gaming career.

find another server, forget about it. better yet, buy your own if you feel inclined.


My L4D2 server is constantly full and I'm glad that people get to enjoy themselves on it. Also, I get to ban morons that immediately join and kill themselves to try and grief.
 
hate to bring it up, but this kind of situation is exactly what gives devs the leverage for excuses to get fed up with dedicated servers, and ditch them altogether. punk admins are directly responsible for the degredation of the community experience, so why would they want to leave it in their hands?

which do you think is actually more common - cheaters, shit admins who don't know how to spot a cheater, or those who would rather use it as an excuse to get rid of players they don't like. these little bitch kids, are the same ones who would think nothing of kicking/banning legit players left and right, then jump on a no-dedicated-server no-kickvote boycott in the same breath. sad but you know it's true, and it's the one point I could sympathize with when IW made this decision. it's a huge factor in the eyes of development, even though we know there are plenty of other servers to be played on, it still doesn't diminish the fact that this happens to good players everywhere you go. you really can't blame devs for wanting to get rid of this problem albeit in stupid ways, if they believe it affects their bottom line.

speaking as both an admin and a player, immature ops and other players "drunk with power" is an annoying part of mp that must be dealt with all the time. and when they don't have admin privs, kickvote gets abused by little kiddie clans who treat public servers like their own. even if you look at smaller co-op games with lower player count, how often is it that you will see little groups bullying and kicking random players from servers that don't belong to them, it's annoying.

very true.. not going to argue with you on any of those points.. all these years running my own servers its a never ending battle.. which is why theres only a select few people that have admin access on my servers.. people complain there arent enough admins but oh well to them.. but its always fun watching little kiddies get owned and automatically claim some ones hacking without any proof..
 
I think [H] needs to get some official [H] servers up and hosted :)

So pick a different server, one not run by 11 year olds. not really sure why this is all that big of a deal.
Because it seems almost every server is run by 12 year olds, or eventually one day is, i used to have an awsome list of CS:S servers i played on and slowly one by one they went down or got taken over by bad admins cause they started taking donations.

So suddenly one admin can ban you from all punkbuster servers. Sounds like one powerful admin or else it was oooh say the software perhaps? Detected a little cheat eh?

It wasn't punkbuster at all. Thanks for assuming that though, just shows how informed you really are. Like I said, I just came back from not playing the game and I don't know what the new banning stuff is like. I thought by being banned from said server I would be banned from punkbuster servers, but I'm not. You really think I would make a post if I was hacking? I get what I deserve if that was the case.

Anyways, thanks for the laugh. Please don't post anymore if you don't know anything, kkthx. Sigh... really I'm in tears.. Also made me do a /facepalm on your post too.

Im not the one who thought one was banned from all punkbuster servers. And BTW Banning and bad banning is NOTHING new. Lots of it happened before VAC and Punkbuster started doing most of hacking bans.
 
What's funny is 3:1 KDR isn't even hard to get. I remember I'd be having an off night in CoD1 or 2 and get called a cheater for a simple 2:1.

It's pretty easy to tell when someone cheating, 99% of the accused aren't cheating or even that good..

Edit: And of course you aren't banned from all servers, just that one asshole's.
 
With around 3000 people logged into any given cheatsite at a time,I would suppose they are not there to just look around. You were hacking like the admin said. Just admit it. Hacking is more common than casual players think. Real gamers like you know about hacking and how to act like they don't. I will now ban you from this forum. I am changing my name to God and out you go.. Poof your gone.! I mean as long as shit can be made up,why not right?
 
Dont worry, infinity ward fixed it for you. You cant get banned playing MW2 for being too good! I suggest trying that. lol
