ive had the old DeathAdder for a long time now (~2.5years?) and tbh its still in nearly new condition it isnt really showing signs of age and i dont see it breaking anytime soon. that being said i absolutely love it and no other mouse will really work for me shape wise.
but now that the new one is out and all im curious to see if anyone has made that upgrade and to see if its worth buying i like the braided cord and the new sensor is pretty appealing as well but im pretty happy now

so is it worth it?

Hmm, this is news to me.

I have a deathadder, and I also love it. From what I see, there is a more accurate laser (would it make any difference?), braided cable (that's fancy, the old mouse cord is really thin), and a few other negligible differences that don't matter too much. I might get rid of my v1 and spend the extra cash for a v2.

yeah thats the thing its not really an upgrade its kind of a side step but i find myself still oddly attracted to it...

I'm not really paying for it to make a huge deal about the features, but just the fact that it's fancier is what appeals to me lol.

The V2 has better quality teflon feet, a braided mouse cord, a higher dpi (not necessary) and no prediction at all.

I personally don't think it's worth it. The optical 3G sensor in 1st version is still one of the best out there and 1800dpi is still good enough for most resolutions out there.

I still love my original DeathAdder. I don't see any immediate need to replace it right now.
However... either i'm being oblivious or i can't seem to find Windows 7 x64 Drivers for it. The Razer site has W7 drivers for the DA3500, but not the DA1800.

Vista drivers work fine on W7 with the DA1800. The only problem is that W7 doesn't know what drivers to use so you have to install it yourself.

Wait...it was the 64 bit drivers i was having troubles with. I'm just asking cuz i bricked the first DA i bought because of incompatible drivers. Don't want any repeats. :D

Check Windows Update, that's where the drivers for mine came from. Works 100% fine (including 1000hz and no drift control) so I'm not sure what type of benefit Razer's own drivers would bring.

Seeing as I've not bought the original DeathAdder I can't speak for how much of an improvement it is. However I have no complaints with the new one that I'm using on the Razer Megasoma mouse pad. Has definitely helped my accuracy in games over my wheel mouse optical (although that is a good mouse in it's own). My only complaint is the side's are slippery, which is why I am interested in the Razer Imperator and how the sides grip on that mouse.
