ok maybe iam missing somthing but i upgraded to win7 tonite and i can no longer move files around inside of folders? is this correct? example open my documents folder and move 1 file to the right of another no longer possible ?

I cant believe this wasnt somthing made more apparent in reviews or in general use.. seems like a deal breaker to me. I mean wtf. This not bother anyone else ?

Personally, nope. I use detail view only, and have no want to have things in a custom order.

This really pissed me off as well when I got 7 because in XP/Vista, I would untick auto arrange and move my user folder icons around to specific parts of the folder. But alas, I eventually got used to detail view and now see it's benefits. I could switch it back to Icon view but with no way to disable auto arrange, why bother?

I think the reason they did this is because in Vista, there is/was that bug where it would reset your folder views/settings. This way, that can't happen because they just force you to use auto arrange all the time.

Why is it a dealbreaker to have to get used to viewing things in a logical, alphabetical order?

I guess the option would be nice to those who must have "custom" view settings, but I can't understand why not having the option is such a big deal. Old habits hard to break, eh?

But I thought Windows 7 was your idea?

I know it wasn't mine because I would have never taken out the classic start menu.

I hate those ads.

I always view files in list view. My downloads folder is in list view with arrange by date so I can always check to see what I downloaded last. I like to see everything on one page.

I keep seeing "F this!" "Dealbreaker!" "I'm going back to <insert OS>!" in regard to Windows 7. It's rather silly.

A "dealbreaker" to me is something like, "Windows no longer supports video playback."

Haha QFT.

I honestly didn't realize you couldn't do that until I tried it just now and it didn't work. And I've been using Win7 since January. Guess that shows how much I needed to do that.

What I find amusing is that a majority of the people I see saying this are saying they'll move to Vista. Some are even saying good things about it.
