He ripped you off. That's my old TJ07 that I sold to him and it wasn't in perfect condition. Those tabs were broken off ahead of time (he never told you) and there were some scratches and missing parts (one hard drive cage). I sold it to him for $150 due to those problems. Did he seriously charge you $330?

wow. Not only did he rip him off - he also got the insurance money for it too.

To the person that received the DOA 8800GTX - you should find out where he got that from too.
 
He swore it was in perfect condition. I paid extra because it was painted "perfectly" and was in great condition. Was the back scewed up like that to? Either way this guy is no good. I sent him an email on both emails saying that I plan to do the chargeback. The thing is he can be really screwed over because since UPS dosent have my case they can go after him if they sent the money. If I do the chargeback, get the money, keep the case, and Ups yanks the check it will teach him a lesson.
 
I checked his previous posts and looked over his past heatware feedback and there was no reference to an 8800gtx being bought or traded for. So I really have no clue where he got it from. Just that it won't display video on boot in a single card config, and in an sli setup device manager shows a code 43 error for that card and it won't function. It's supposedly an evga, has an evga heatsink atleast, although the evga serial number sticker is missing from the back.

That's complete shit if he bought known damaged goods off another member here and then sold them as new to an unsuspecting buyer. These dealings begin to stink more and more.
 
I hope everyone is collecting this info and will provide it to the authorities. This guy needs a visit from the local cops.

tiger, the card was working. I got it from ozarkboy who can confirm it was. I will go through usps insurance.

I've PM'd him again. I didn't get a response when he logged in, just the message he posted here. I'm awaiting the word back from him regarding my refund request.
 
2 days and nothing but that post. I'm going to call tonight and if there is no refund I plan on starting the chargeback.
 
Still absolutely no contact or attempt to fix this situation by this seller. My charge reversal with my banking institution is complete and the funds have been reclaimed. Paypal can now pull the funds from the seller or whatever they wish to do. I'm going to consider the matter closed for myself and chalk it up as a bad experience that could have turned out a lot worse.

The previous owner (who claims to have sold it to lollerskater) also contacted me via PM. It was brought to my attention that he was not the original owner either and the card has changed hands atleast 3 times. This is concerning because lollerskater told me that the card was registered under lifetime warranty and that he was able to take care of any RMA needs. Obviously this was a complete misrepresentation as this card doesn't even have a serial number sticker nor is he even the original owner to be eligible for EVGA RMA. Doesn't surprise me to get lied to by someone who won't even make the effort to correct a problem or communicate with their buyers.

I'm going to leave negative heat and wash my hands of this matter. I truly hope that others here at the [H] do not fall victim to another situation like this.

I am still waiting on my card back that he said was defective (was working fine and he told me it worked fine when he got it). Dealing with him was the worst experience I have had on here. If I don't get a response back from him in a few more days I am going to cash back on paypal for the loss of the card.
 
I had bought some w/c fittings off him some time ago. I didn't get what I thought I was getting Quantity, type, size, & condition were all misrepresented. Dealing with him was a total pain in the ass, communication was weak and took damn near a month to get'em. It was a $12 transaction so i didn't bother reporting him...I chalked it up as a cheap lesson learned.

Retaliatory heat is removed if you report it (going off what I've read here in TTT several times now).
 
I bought a gtx 260 from him just a few weeks back. Communication was extremely lacking but the card arrived in pretty good condition and works perfectly. Glad I wasn't caught up in this mess :(

Anyways, I'm still waiting on the chargeback. I haven't been home to call to see whats up. This guy is +200 right now. It goes...

He paid $150 for the case, knowing it was damaged
He charged me for a "new" case, $330

At this point he's +$180.

I get it, damaged. Filed a claim, UPS paid him $330 plus shipping. +$350

He is, as of right now, +$530.

If I win the charge back, which I think I will, he'll still be +$200.

I'm glad he was banned. Should I tell UPS what he did so they can track him down? I'm not sending the case back, either way. This guy needs to be taught a lesson.
 
If you're banned you can still log in, you just get a screen telling you that you're banned and you can't see any of the forums. So it will adjust the last log in date accordingly.

I doubt UPS will care, as they have no liability in the situation (I'm not a lawyer, just using common sense), so I doubt they would want to become involved.

Also, since loller has been banned, I'm lifting the "only involved parties can post" statement, but please try to keep your comments limited to things that would actually help the people who appear to have been scammed. Just jumping in to bash on lollerskater doesn't help anyone.
 
UPS has been constantly trying to pick up my case. Every day they come to the door asking for it, but I keep turning them away. I'm sure they at least would like to know an update on it. I'm really just waiting for my chargeback to come through. Once that's over, I'll be pretty happy just to get my money back.

Same number. What was he complaining about? Me bugging the fuck out of him because he won't give me my shit back? Hell, I even gave him another 15 bucks to ship it back.
 
I wonder if I could hit him with federal cyber fraud or something. Also I wonder if I can press charges against him in my state as well.
 
I think if the now four or five people who were scammed on here got together we'd have at least some form of a case or complaint. When he spoke about you he mentioned how you said the card was now dead or something. It seems to happen a lot to him.
 
I have 35 days of leave built up so I am up for a challenge. I am going to look more into the laws on fraud in Florida. Friday I am going to call the Tampa PD and find a lawyer in Tampa. Can you say RageON vacation?
 
Well what you can do is go to your local municipal court or JP and file a small claims case.
He would be legally obligated to show up, and chances are he wouldnt and the judge would put a judgement on him.

1) this will destroy his credit. (revenge)
2) Next time he tries to buy a car or get loan of any kind he will be forced to pay up.

If UPS does not get the case, they will NOT honor the claim. I do the UPS claims for my company, and we are one of UPS' top 25 customers, so I know what I am talking about.

If I were you, I would make sure that UPS never gets that case.

If the correct heatware for this problem trader is lollerskater69, he only has one negative heat rating at this time. And reading through this thread I believe I saw three people with problems. I would like to ask that those people take the time to make a heatware entry as it would make him less able to use the heat account as a reference on other forums. And if you get any heatware blowback from it, you can always show em this forum thread as proof that he was banned over the problems. If no one ever leaves pertinent information on there, it's going to soon become something no one trusts.

He has to be lying. UPS will not honor a claim without inspecting the package for themselves. They will do just about anything to avoid having to pay a claim.
