I was sent a link to this video at Autoblog and it just blew me away. Yes, it has silly parts but the quality of the CGI is amazing. If you want to see what happens when a Chevy Camaro, Ford Shelby Mustang, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Vaz 2107, and an Apache helicopter start racing, check the video out. Thanks to reader Archer1212 for the linkage. (Brief NSFW at 5:45-5:46 for language.)

We've seen plenty of car-related videos of our time, and we've posted on quite a few of them on Autoblog. The clips are usually informative, offer a sneak peak of a future product, or they're just plain funny, but one thing we've never done is showcase a reader's demo reel, until today. Why? Because after the jump is one of the sweetest home-grown car videos in the history of geeks playing with CGI software.

That's a cool video. I think some of the effects are 10x better than what I've seen come out of Hollywood in the past 10 years! Get that guy hired on at Pixar or Lucas Films!

And most likely there will be a gpu in 10 years to render that instaneously.

I heard some L4D music in there too.

Amazing how someone can put that much work into something, but spend so little time to pick up a dictionary to spell a couple words correctly. I would think that if he wanted to use this as presentation piece he would want it as perfect as possible.

The two I caught:
sily = silly
of = off, in the context he used it.

-edit

Other than that, it was amazing video. I still rated it 5 stars on Youtube.

Well, He's a non-native English speaker, so not too bad.

I think that's intentional, just to make it more funny and natural, if that makes any sense. I'm sure he has another version with correct spelling and no cursing at the end.
Anyways, the video was amazing, it looks so real considering this was made by a single person.

BTW, why do they link to that video, isn't this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHD8Xf5Rnvo) the original?

go Vaz!

That was incredible, and got a chuckle out of me at the finish line.

Very cool video. Guy put a LOT of work into this and it shows.

Freaking slick, his Camaro vid is creative too, and there's Camaro v Mustang vid out there with cars in different color.

His tv show test shoot with the model is awesome, you know, the one with the shotgun

well, at least link to the youtube video by the original creator and not one of the ten other people who re-uploaded it.

Funny how he used the L4D Witch sound for the black blob thing haha.

i was like hey, i remember that sound from somewhere >.>
