Woah! How'd you fit a ATX PSU into a SG06? please elaborate!

Oop, NVM. I took a search of ur posts. I see the H50 and ATX psu go well together

Couldn't remember if I had posted it here before but there seems to be some interest in modded Shuttle systems lately so....

It is/used to be a Shuttle SP35P2. :p

As soon as I can scrape together the $300 to replace the motherboard and PSU she'll be back up and running with my GTX260 in place of the HD4870. Can't wait...this project is my favorite thing I've done and it saddnes me to see it boxed up month after month. :(

My new HTPC (frontend to fileserver)
  • Asus AT3N7A-I (Atom 330, ION)
  • 2+1GB PQI DDR2 RAM (had them at home, unused :D )
  • WD Scorpio Blue 250GB (over 240GB of that is unused due the fact, that Arch Linux + XBMC doesn't require much more)
  • 2x Noctua NF-R8 fans
  • Zalman Fanmate + one Y fan cable.
  • Antec ISK 300-65
  • Fractal Design remote
  • Arch Linux + XBMC

Sorry, no DVD drive, i wouldn't have use of it. Temperatures are supririsingly low - when i compiled SVN version of XBMC, the temperature of CPU was only at 51C, when both fans were running at minimum = 820RPM. It's usually around 43-45C when playing videos or such.

45c load with the fans turning @ 750 rpms. Next I'm gonna see if I can trade someone my 74GB Raptor for a 120-160GB 2.5in Sata drive to quiet it down some more.
I might spring for a 5770 and a new AM3 CPU while I'm at it.

Wow great pics! And nice case. Wish they were a lil bit smaller but whatever. So you gonna start using that rig for gaming?

Yea a little gaming here and there. I had a 260 GTX in there at one point but that damn thing put out so much heat I got rid of it. I mostly play EVE which doesn't require a lot of GPU power but it does require more power than my current integrated graphics. I guess what I'm really shooting for is a silent, low power, low heat, energy efficient gaming rig.

Maybe you can find a passive cooled 9600gt or 9800gt? Those are quiet, haha and they shouldnt take toooo much power.

Now that's not a bad idea, if I remember correctly Galaxy has a green line of 9000 series cards.
Yep thats it! I dont remember if they are passive cooled though, but you can buy one of those nice big heatsinks to keep it cool and passive.

Look into the PNY Performance Edition 9800GT. It has no pci-e power plug and is very quiet. Short card too.

PLACE HOLDER UNTIL NEXT WEEK

build:

nzxt rouge
XFX mATX mobo
Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz
8600 GTS 256MB DDR3(upgrading later)

DVD Drive
DVD Writer
320gig HD

Jen!

You have posted the first real SFF on this page!

I keep on seeing loads of mATX boxes, the size of full ATX towers!

My idea of SFF was the HP Slimline s3000/s7000 series.

EDIT: yeah, I'll post mine later this week.

i agree... staring at my P180 mini... this thing is huge compared to the old LL V350 i used to have (but i hated that LL case), i'm pretty sure this p180 mini is as big as a centurion 5

if that DFI itx board reviews good... or if shuttle comes out with a P55 in a G2 chassis... mmm (yes, i want a SP55G2, c'mon shuttle)

I agree, believe this thread's title is The OFFICIAL post pics of your SFF thread. Emphasis on SFF (Small Form Factor).

Jen- what other hardware do you have in your rig? No issues running the GTX 260 with that psu?

Quad 9550 @ 1 volt
asus matx board
samsung slot load dvd laptop burner
2 x 2 memory
ocz vertex ssd
640 gb wd
260 gtx +
140 mm fan , 2 x 120mm fans , 92mm fan

i havent tested the video card yet , from the reviewers i have read this powersupply should work very well. and i have to say its more silent than the corsairs i have here

Usr1, where did you get the Galaxy 260 at?

With the case side on the graphics card doesnt go above 72 the fan just increases speed to cope with the heat and the cpu full load for one hour is 54 max 35 idle
