I have made some colossal errors in my time but I’m pretty sure I’ve never knocked a whole country offline. :eek:

The error occurred on Monday night when routine service work was scheduled to take place. “It must have occurred due to a bug in our system which led to us sending out faulty information. We saw it right away,” said .SE head Danny Aerts to the TT news agency late on Monday night.

Surprised I missed that one.. but I was playing Risen all night which probably explains it :)
 
Just a gathering of sites hosted in the southern areas really. A much larger blackout happened a few years ago when some copper thief cut The One Fiber Cable You Dont Want To See Cut Ever while on the hunt for copper. No IP telephony worked after that went down, and most internet was down too.
 
Steve, did somebody steal your bra and go prancing about in the vicinity of the power plugs of their servers?
