How many gaming capable rigs do you own?

Okay, I just updated my signuature.

Still don't have the tenacity anymore to game.

are you people made of money?

There are a lot more expensive hobbies than computers. Look how much some people spend on cars and boats, and being a hardware enthusiast seems like a cheap hobby. Look at how much some people spend on upgrading sports equipment with dubious benefits. At least when I upgrade my PC the differences are appreciable and easily measured.

Also think about how much money some people spend on fashion. Expensive clothes that are only worn a few times before they are out of fashion.

Then consider the money to time ratio. People spend lots on time on their computers, so when you consider the dollar value that way, it's an entertainment bargain. And if your folding may even be beneficial to society.

My ultimate goal is to have a hobby in hardware, cars, and boats all at the same time. :D

I don't ever see myself owning more than two desktops though. One for high end everything, and the other as some type of efficient media center.

I feel the same way. I always sell the 3rd one after upgrading.

You can EASILY spend as much on a computers as boats and cars. My next rig might very well cost me $10,000. That's just the hardware and no monitor.

But if you are REALLY into cars and boats and what not on the high end then yeah, that's going to be a lot more money. But I could EASILY blow $100k per year on computers if I had the money.

I have two gaming capable rigs though on is disassembled ATM.

Asus HD4830
Corsair VX450

and lastly, my lowly Dell Inspiron Lappy with a 1gb RAM, dual core Intel and Radeon 1300 graphics. It will play CSS fairly decent, but really struggles with anything modern. The other machines...they can handle anything at appropriate settings, so I would consider them all capable "gamers".

BTW, as for other hobbies....I got about 12k sittin here behind me.. 2008 Kawasaki KFX450 Race Quad, and a little CRF150R motocycle I kinda use like a pitbike. ATVs and bikes can get EXPENSIVE if ya keep modding and buying stuff for them. PCs are CHEAP in comparison. My father is into old Hot Rods. I would be too, but they cost too much. There's a 100k in the adjoining garage and he just sold one other car for $23k. I think I'll stay with the PCs. LOL.

My other TOYS.

you say you'll stick with PCs until you get a nice vehicle that worth messing with.....

I'm pretty much putting PCs on hold now that I have a car that is worth making better and have never been a car person, I am hooked already.

Nah, cars take too much time and money. Had a few "worthy" cars over the years. 1965 GTO Convertible, 1973 TransAM, 1948 Ford Convertible. I see how the cars took over my Father's life. Not goin down that path. BTW, I can cram my ATVs, bikes AND 3 or 4 PCs in my small 16'x32' garage/shop. Try stuffin 3 cars and a project in anything less than 40x60, lol. Oh yeah, tools...what ya need for a PC? phillips screwdriver and some zipties! The ATVs...your run of the mill Craftsman 150pc metric tool set! Add the money needed to build muscle cars, street rods or classix. LOL. Crazy.

Other than computers, RC cars is my other hobby. For me, the RC hobby ends up costing nearly 3x as much as my computer hobby.

That's about it for gaming boxes. I could build another one if I desired as I have enough parts on hand to do it. I've got a spare X58 board and a Core i7 920 CPU but I will most likely use that to upgrade one of the above machines.

What I spend on guns FAR exceeds my computer related spending these last couple of years.

Three up and running right now, full parts for another 3 lying around though.

2 rigs:
Desktop: self built
Intel C2D E6300
ATi 3850
4gigs ram

Laptop: Gateway P-7805u
Intel C2D P8400
Nvidia 9800M GTS
4gigs ram

I love this laptop. Only gripe I have is that the 'r' button sometimes doesn't registe.

Intel E8600 @ 3.33
6 GB
8800GS
runs cod4, crysis, couple other games at full, I like it.

I'd say all 4 of the machines in my house are gaming capable. My wife and I each have a gaming desktop PC with some decent hardware... quad core CPU's, gaming video cards, lots of RAM, etc. Then we have a laptop that sits on the coffee table that is capable of playing WoW, not with high graphics or anything, but the fact that it is even playable at 1920x1200 is impressive. As a last resort we can use the HTPC for some gaming, which again isn't pretty, but it's been done in a pinch.

sempron 3300+
Antec Earthwatts 350
cheap case
2 gb of ram
Radeon HD3850 256 mb
80 GB Western Digital

Not sure exactly what you're looking for here in terms of "capable of gaming" but I have three that I use for games, though I play games as old as Red Orchestra and stuff, so it's nolike they need to be terribly new.

Main rig is a core2 quad with plenty of ram

Secondary rig is a core2 with a little less ram (some of my memory has caused bluescreens recently, so :( )

Third rig is a P4 3.2 with a decent amount of memory and the fastest AGP card I could find for it.

No listed specs because I am pretty sure no one cares, they're not anything special.

Asus G50VT w/ Nvidia 9800M

Acer Notebook w/ Nvidia 8600GT

i7 920 @ 3.60GHz w/ ATI 5850

E2180 @ 3.20GHz w/ ATI 4770

For a total of 4

only 2, I dont keep extra PC's hanging around
phenom x4 920
4850

e5200
9600gt

I only have the one in my sig. I would have another but I give away my old parts to family and stuff. It's silly to run a second computer for just myself.

mine is in signature.

My son's;
Q6600 @ 3.2
4 GB Corsair Dominator
Evga GTX 260 OC

My daughter's:
e7200 @ 3.3
4GB Corsair XMS
ATI 4870 512MB OC

:D:D

Specs in sigs, but this is all I have. Everything else isn't even worth using the internet for in my opinion. :p

Desktop:
Q6600
8800GTX
4GB DDR2 Corsair Dominator

Laptop:
T9400
3GB DDR3
ATi Mobility Radeon 3470

I guess just the 2 in my sig, feel so in lonely with only 2 now lol. Don't even use the HTPC for games much just went a buddy wants to play. Did get the itch to start building a i7 and made a wishlist on newegg so I may get up to 3 soon.
