all prepped for eyefinity I see....

I was quite prepared to get a second monitor...then eyefinity was revealed. Now I'm going to wait...maybe get 3 matching ones later.

some people just clean. :) i never understood why people spend so much money on comps/desks/screens and let em look like trash.

Yup...every picture that I've ever posted in this thread has never been "prepped" for the shot. I just can't stand messiness. It makes me cuhraaaazy. :p

as with mine. I cannot stand a mess. I feel.. cramped and like i can't focus on my screen when there is a mess around/on my desk.

It's the Ikea Jerker, but it's discontinued. You might be able to find it on craigslist, otherwise you can look into it's successor, the Fredrik.

Craigslist around the towns where an Ikea is located. I have three of them. Looking for a fourth now. =)

H2ouup2 - Nice set- up....very clean!
Question: What is it you are using for the ambient back lighting? I was looking for a light that isnt too bright or offensive that I could use for those late night gaming sessions.

I too would like to know what kind of light that is. I've been thinking of rigging something similar.

@ BlueFox: I'm jealous you still have your FW900, mine is dying slowly but has been getting far worse the last few days :(
@H2ouup2: Nice setup I wish I could keep my desk that clean. And do I spy those Astra gaming headphones?

Thanks for the kind comments...I need some artwork on the walls...

So, I have been thinking about if I should post pics of my setup for the last few days because I am still not quite done with it, yet but here I am.
I still have some major wire management to do, but all my clan mates have stated I need to post it up since its the first they have seen of someone doing this kind of mod and that I should not let anyone beat me to it. (There was "one" other but it was not as nice IMO) :p

My project log to date can be found here:

And one with the room lighting off...

And to be honest, the last image does NOT do this setup justice... I have to still mud the walls and paint but the concept is there. This computer system is now permanently mounted but that's ok by me.

EDIT: As with all liquid cooling systems, I kept adding parts. The first two images do not show my vid card and extra 120.3 rad.

that's pretty awesome, I would like to see how it is constructed under the table as well, and how you attached the pc components to the table. Did you do it all from scratch or did you start with a part of a PC case and go from there?

I will post some pics of the project tomorrow. I am a little embarrassed to show under the skirt (to be honest) since I have yet to do the cable management, but as to the build; It is completely custom. My buddy and I spent many weeks finding parts that would work for our purposes needed and modding them to our needs. The main body of the PC base is a steel swing table from a hospital that was refurbished and cut to our measurements. The whole system is suspended by 4 steel rods anchored under the desk (Very well I will add) and those pass through the steel plate with rubber grommets to dampen any vibrations. The HD's are mounted to two pieces of acrylic which are on legs with springs to also dampen and vibration. Everything in there is custom. :D

very nice use of carbon fiber! very very sweet!
Thanks. I was going to do a paint job but realized it would not show up very well and found a site that sold the carbon as a sticker. Weak I know, but it turned out better than I hoped!

Thanks for the kudo's ! :)

the wire management is one thing I was wondering about on the table. It looks so clean through the plexi, but to run the wires everywhere around the PC box is probably the hardest part to make look nice

I am sure you will a figure out a way to make it look perfect though,

its one hell of a nice project you have there

Trumper17: Love your Galant configuration! I've been thinking of taking off one of the extensions from the left side of mine and adding it to the right exactly as you've done. Your pic sold me!! Maybe I'll finally make the effort to clean up my cable rainforest, too. :p

What's that mini-tower atop the left side of your desk?

I run a tech site and do review work for another site, hence why I have so many in at the moment.

Acer has been putting out some decent offerings. Other than that, there really is no clear-cut winner IMO. Each has its pros and cons (screen size, keyboard layout, battery life) - just depends on what you are looking for.

Heres mine. No way I can compare to some of you. Just a cheapo walmart desk. Its the only L-desk I could find with an open corner. I soooo want a Ikea Galant, but there isnt a store near me.

looks pretty decent for a walmart desk, and I like your chair too.

also looks like you have been having some fun with a fisheye lens
