SG05, GeminII inside

You systems all look great... kinda points out the weakness of the LianLi case. Does anyone think that that Gemini II would fit in the LianLi PC-Q07?

could someone explain how a pwm fan works with the zotac board? I am about to buy this board but I am waiting until I figure out exactly what the fan issues are.

Not entirely correct, I use the standard Shuriken while he is talking about the Big Shuriken ;)

Big Shuriken is a symmetrical cooler.
Dimension: 125×135x58mm

Different with GeminII S, GeminII, NT06 and AXP-140.

It may out of MB range a lot.

May not fit in SG05.

According to this post (LINK) in a german forum, the Scythe Big Shuriken does fit into the SG05, but its fins hit the side wall of the case.

My spin on the SG05-Gemini combo. mobo is J&W MiniX

i begin testing scythe big shuriken heatsink with yate loon 120x120x20 mm fan on zotac 9300 . the mounting setup is difficult to mount as others have clearly stated . i would recommend removing the northbridge to mount this heatsink . then remount the northbridge after. temps so far are as good as gemini s . northbridge is alot cooler than geminis was doing for it before. i will test with prime for today as i am sick . tomorrow will see if it will fit the silverstone sg05 case hopefully it will as i would like to use it instead of the other heatsinks i have here

the processor is a 9550 @ 3000mhz that i am testing this with , idle temps was 36c and full load at this time about 52c . room temps are about 26c i think.

Well, Big Shuriken and a 20mm fan should fit the case, as it's 78mm combined.

I've just installed my sg05 with a zotac 9300 wifi and a Shruiken rev b cooler.

Temps seem very good indeed but i noticed that the coolers pipe ends just jut outside the case a bit. Meaning that the chassis cover is slightly bowed when closed.

Are any other Shruiken users finding this?

have the heatpipes going front to back of case then wont have this problem . thats how i did mine when i was testing it

Aha, thanks Jen. I was thinking that it wouldn't fit that way around as the pipes might interfere with the ram. Now I just have to get the damn cooler off again!

Anyone got any advice for turning the pins and lifting them up? When I installed it I was thinking 'man, there's not much space here..'

best way is to take motherboard out and remove northbridge heatsink then you can use angle pliers if you have some to help turn those pins and lifting them.

bolt through kit do wonders for installing that heatsink , why they didnt do this is beyond my reasoning.

Thanks for the advice Jen. Hmm I'd rather not take that northbridge heatsink off, sounds far too tricky. It's stuck on right?

Might just do as you say and get hold of some small angle pliers and see if they'll do the job.

northbridge has two push pins with springs to hold it . requires taking motherboard out and squeezing the pin on the backside of board and pushing them back through . i found a bolt through mod gave me better temps than the push pins but you must be carefull on doing this modification
