Awesome Upside-Down Power Strip

I would love to have a powerstrip like that.

I kick my powerstrip a lot and that would keep me from unplugging things with my foot

This is one of those things where you slap your forehead and say, "d'oh, why didn't I think of that?"

If I want to plug something in, I would need to flip it over, plug it in and flip it back over again?

also makes me wonder why the power cord for the strip has to be at the front of the device? why the hell can't it be in the back, the only reason i can think of is it might help stabilize the unit if there isn't sufficient weight to it, if the cord was hanging down a few feet it might pull on the whole thing too much

Didn't know people left power strips out for everyone to see. Must be a new fad as I've always had mine tucked away behind whatever.

Be interesting to see how it handles wall warts, to me that's the biggest headache when it comes to power strips. Looking at it, I would say that it might not be able to handle them at all.

What about the annoying power bricks plugging into this power strip. There are no oversize spaced outlets. Maybe the revision 2 will have the extra spacing feature.

Wow, instant million dollar idea... I wonder who will buy the patent, prolly GE...

Not sure what others do, but all my power strips are safely fastened to areas where feet don't travel (unless you're extraordinarily high :p)

Actually, probably LG, and it'll sell 10million This is the perfect powerstrip for mounting under the desk. Hinge one end, have a QR clip at the other end.

I really got my hopes up when I read "upsidedown power strip". Thought it was going to be about a revolutionary change in the art of stripping.

Switch is in the front, so the cord is in the front, less wire means cheaper to manufacture.

Actually the power cord pivots! So it should not be a problem I would think.

Not gonna lie, that is quite the genius idea and looks like it's great for cable management.

Works if you have all single power plugs. Most of my stuff I plug in has power bricks. Neat, but fail.

LOL at the good comments in this thread :p

I'm guessing the internals are shoddy.

I can has fire plz

You are the reason we need manuals for everything. Yes, that is what you do. :D

You missed my point. I don't need something that will add two additional steps of plugging in a power cord. Like others have mentioned, that power strip makes no accomodation for power bricks.

That "revolutionary" design is worthless.

fail...most of the power cords that I use with my electronics include 10 ounce bricks and such...won't fit...thus unless you can insure that all the cords you are using will be simple ones, it's poorly designed

Wouldn't this thing have a hard time staying flat? With all plugs filled and tension from all cords string at a slight upwards angle could make it lift. I second the fact that power strips need not be seen. Oh one more thing... I'd freakin love to see someone accidentally step on it and split it in two or three pieces!

Interesting concept... don't know why he makes it look so awesome.. usually there is mass of cables sitting on/next to mine, not something I want to be flaunting on my desktop..

Eh, I much prefer a Power Squid. I have more problems dealing with giant power bricks than I do with wanting my wiring to look neat. I'm fine so far just shoving stuff behind a table or something when it needs to look nice. Although most of the time I just leave it out for accessibility. Aesthetics be damned.

I could see this for like a entertainment center and someone want to kill the vampire drain when not in use. just have the power button in front and the cords going behind. looks to have enough plug-ins for a dvd player, receiver/amp, satellite/cable box, TV and a maybe a htpc. and none of my stuff like that has a power brick.

Right, thats why I wont have one of those.

For most of us who ae trying to manage all our wires, this is a bad idea,
at least for me.

I was just going to post this.

This guy is going to be a millionaire very quickly.

I'd buy at least 3. The only thing I'm worried about is plugging in bricks. Will a brick fit under this thingy?

If this thing comes ot market, is reasonably priced, and supports power bricks, then I'd buy at least 2.
