I got Windows 7 x64 for free off of MSDNAA through my school. I want to install on my PC, but my PC also functions as my HD DVD and Bluray player. I am using Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 Ultra to play these on Windows Vista x64 right now and it works like charm. Will I run into issues with trying to install or use the program on Windows 7 x64? Otherwise I won't bother installing the new OS.

Should be fine, but I'd consider upgrading since they're on version 9 now and I've run into compatibility problems with some movies and PDVD7.

The best version to use for native HD DVD support is PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra v.3319a. After that version, it's one giant screw up or totally unsupported.

Use the latest version for Blu-ray.

You can install v7 and the latest version along side each other. Use one for HD DVD playback, and the other for Blu-ray playback.

if you upgrade to 9 make sure you keep that older version. if you wipe and reinstall you'll need the original version installed first before you can reinstall the current.

you will be fine. I have PowerDVD 7 Ultra installed on my windows 7 x64 box and it works fine. It changes the color theme to vista basic when you start playing the bluray/hd-dvd, but it goes back to aero when you're done.
