4GB to 8GB performance increase?

but doesn't it save the image, and when you boot, the image is loaded.

Nevermind though, I just wanted to test how fast it is, and tf2 is almost 7 gigs :(. Then I wanted to load google chrome and aim on it instead, but those install by itself on the C: drive and wouldn't let me install where I wanted it.

how would you install steam into the ramdisk? won't you just lose the installation right after you power off the computer?

Like I said on the above post, you save the image on the harddrive, and whenever you boot up, the image is loaded on to the ram.

Don't know, I'm about to try it out soon, and tell you guys. Hopefully adobe photoshops are less than 1gb

With 8GB installed, my RAM usage goes as high as 6.3GB under Vista x64. Superfetch is doing it's job. Everything is super snappy loading... That's about the only advantage other than VM's and memory intensive programs such as Photoshop.
