I have one of those as well. They are really nice (no screws necessary) and quite sturdy. They used to sell em at either Home Depot or Lowes. Forgot which it was. They may still be there for all I know.

you think it would be stable to hold up a computer

i seen multiple members with this chair, or a chair that looks like this, anyone know the brand, or where i can find it ?

It's a Herman Miller Aeron... retails $600-800 but you could probably find some used ones for cheap.

I actually just got my Herman Miller Embody... $1400 but worth it... w/ 12 year warranty too :D

Yep, an Aeron. There's a place online you can snag them online for $150 used. I happened to have had mine gifted to me....I love it.

whered you get the wire looking rack? would you happen to have the dimensions? looking to put my computer on top of that and maybe my xbox on the bottom

It's from Target, was $20ish - Bought it years ago. I can measure it for you tomorrow/monday morning as Im working from home this week

Just got the Jerker off Craigslist. I have to say that it is everything it is cracked up to be, and that the arm holding the keyboard tray in place looks like it should be able to fire some sort of missile.

This is about as clean as you'll ever see my desk lol. The speaker company ftw!. And yes that is a hp computer. i can't say that i'm proud of it, but its damn fast for a great price. Just picked it up 3 days ago to replace my lenovo laptop. (its in the FS section now)

Look, you get a great deal you can't pass up, nothing wrong with buying pre-built. But, honestly, turn it into a media server, and build a real rig.

lol, i have a whs already, i used to do all the crazy gaming rigs back in the day. theres probably threads still floating around lol. i'll be honest i dont use my pc for more than watching a movie and going online now a days so i'm sure it will be ok. I'm just shocked at how much pc prices have gone down. You used to be able to save tons of money buy building your own pc, but nowadays with all these deals its somtimes cheaper to buy a prebuilt and throw a graphics card in it. the new hobbie for the past 5 years has been modding cars and road racing.

Here's my Station..not where I want it to be, but exactly how I like it..sense made? Yes...

Excuse the pic quality..Oh 3G S..what you should have been......

I'm not 100% sure about the painting, I've never done it to a desk but I would think a primer would probably be a good idea. Also, make sure you allow for maximum drying time to give the paint time to cure real good so it won't scratch or chip as easy. Maybe there's a special paint that adheres better to a countertop surface... but like I said, I'm not sure of all this. I've always had pretty good luck with Krylon Fusion on a number of different surfaces... but I never tried anything really glossy or slippery without first priming it, or at least sanding it a bit to rough it up for better adhesion.

What I did do one time when I wanted to change the look of a desk I had... I used contact paper and made the desk appear as if it had a leathery surface. Just another idea.

Good luck... oh and post some pics for us when you get it done :)

lmao. i just found a jerker with 2 attachments for $50. would you recommend me get that instead? also can the attachments support a Silverstone TJ09?

it seems to be easier and more convenient to do that not to mention it saves me the trouble from moving the desk from my house to college since the jerker is located in my college town.

I'm waiting for Embody's to hopefully fall under $1k, then I'll upgrade from my Aeron...

Sitting 8+hrs a day for my job, a great chair is more then worth its money in the end. :)

Just moved, an now I have my own room for my computer/stuff. SO much nicer for me and the wife.

A few more tucks and ties with the cable management and I should be all set.

Well the Jerkers are great desks, and that's a good price... I'd get it... I did when a lady was selling hers for $40 here locally :D I'm not sure about the TJ09 on the attachments though... I had my Lian Li V1000 on one of the side swivel shelves before and I didn't have a problem, but nobody was really around it either... but they are attached pretty well to the desk.

Speaking of chairs Slidesear what chair is that there? Is it comfortable? Or is it just for looks. What do a few hours in front of your rig feel like with that chair?

That looks like a Humanscale Freedom chair, which would be one built for purpose as well as looks... It competes with Herman Millers Aeron/Embody and the Steelscase Leap at the top end of the great design/great ergo market. (ie, $600+ chairs)...

thepawn would be correct, it is a Humanscale Freedom chair. It's really comfy, it hugs your body and keeps you eye level straight as you lean back. All pieces, seat, backrest, head rest are adjustable. The armrests are also adjustable and let you put them lower than desk height in order to move completely in if you want to, I usually put them at the level where they support my arm making my mouse movements very comfortable. I can sit back and watch a movie comfortably.

I am going to get one for work pretty soon which should give me a better idea of what it feels like for prolonged periods of time.

The best part is that I luckily found it for $100 from an ad on craigslist. The guy was pretty much loaded, he said he was Manny Pacquiao's Agent.

Big Brown Chair.
Where's it from?
How much did it cost?

A few changes... nothing really big...

I added some shelves to the wall, I didn't really like the little bikes being spread about the desk...

Then I made a little hanger for my 'phones out of an old door hanging thing... works well and puts them right where I can plug them in and then take them off the hook if I need them...

I'm just throwing this pic in here 'cause I like it :p...

Out of curiosity, how do you have those speakers set into your computer? Don't they use standard speaker wire?

Could you give a link to the wallpaper please?

I have them hooked to my Logitech sub with some speaker wire that terminates into an RCA type plug... the other end is of course bare speaker wire (actually banana plugs). I wouldn't go as far as calling this setup audiophile quality, but it's a hell of a lot better than the satellites that came with the Logitech set if you ask me.

It's a great keyboard. I love how the keys feel when typing on it, and I haven't found another keyboard I like better... well maybe the Das Keyboard Pro, but that's a different type of keyboard. I also think this keyboard has a better look than the Das... it's very classy, understated and useful... you made a great choice in my opinion.

Hate to sound stupid, but what keyboard is it? You didn't mention.
