I am looking into getting an SSL Cert for our company's network and we have certs from both Network Solutions and GoDaddy. I planned on buying a cert from Network Solutions but my coworker says that I'd be disappointed with Network Solutions. I checked out GoDaddy and it is cheaper, but I wonder what experiences [H] users have had with SSL certs and different vendores. Is there any reason I should go with one vendor over another?

Thanks!

GoDaddy.

Network Solutions has bad business practices, I'd rather give it to GoDaddy.

That's who I use anyway. Pretty cheap SSL certs. Especially when their your own servers for your own users and all you want to do is get rid of the SSL warnings.

I use GoDaddy. Network Solutions is usually more expensive for everything. Both services are pretty much equal apart from that.

We've resold both in the past and now only sell GoDaddy. They are way cheaper and don't ask the stupid million questions of Network Solutions. Plus they are quicker to get you the cert than network solutions in my book.

The problem with GoDaddy is there are still clients without their root certs. Just had a customer having Citrix Access Gateway issues due to that..took a manual client change to fix them. Wasn't worth the money saved there.

GoDaddy. They are cheap, they work and their support has always been good when I've had to call them. I just bought some crap from for myself from 1 & 1 because they were doing a promotion or something and I want to move to GoDaddy already. Oh well, maybe I'll do that when those domains are up for renewal...

I use NameCheap, they are pretty good. I'm sure Go Daddy have setup their own authority which causes some issues with mobile devices. I would rather buy from a reseller and get a well known cert.

Been getting interested with SSL certs since IE 7 and especially IE 8...such as with SBS RWW and some SSL VPNs like Junipers, so end users don't get that warning message IE now puts up and have to click on "continue anyways".

Anyone dabbled with Comodo?

I'm using Comodo, excellent certs.

Buy your Comodo certs through NameCheap.com, they are an authorized reseller and get the certs for a ridiculous price.

THAWTE is pretty good too, depending what you need an SSL for.
For the basics (just to get rid of your warnings), GoDaddy is cheap and effective.

Another vote for GoDaddy. Have used GeoTrust and Thawte in the past. Now all business goes to GoDaddy.

The problem is the popularity of their root certs. I'd go with Entrust.
