Hi,

I have a Lenovo t400 with intel wifi link 5300 agn card in it.
When I'm on wireless, I'll sometimes lose my connection and the card disables itself, along with the ethernet port. Enabling them in Network Connections is impossible. It tries and fails.

I tried new drivers too but nothing there. ipconfig tells me there is a malfunction.
Device manager says everything's working fine.
Helpdesk ran some "netsh winsock reset" etc etc commands

Nothing has worked so far. What causes a wireless card to disable itself AND the ethernet port after like 20-40 minutes of use? This does not happen when wired.

Is this a hardware or software issue? Not sure as to what to do next in troubleshooting this..

That is a strange issue. If it is still under warranty I would definitely be on the phone with lenovo trying to get the issue resolved.

What happens when you restart the computer? If it still fucks up, it is likely a hardware malfunction. Sounds a little too complicated to be software, especially with the troubleshooting you've done so far.

A Reboot resets everything and all is well. until the vicious cycle repeats itself.

Possibly some sort of power management issue? I have had problems before with wifi cards being turned off and not waking back up.
