FedEx is actually good about handling packages, probably because they really pay out claims given acceptable proof of value. UPS OTOH doesn't care one bit.
To start off, the rolex's were mine.
They were my aunts which she would have given to
my relatives as gifts for coming back to our home country.
My aunt is a jeweler (not sure what the job is called).
I was around 15-16 of age at the time. So I had little to no interest of the matter.
As for the proof of them being there, It was technically my luggage
but my aunt decided to put them there since she had little space
on hers. I don't have technical proof of it being there,
but I do have a first hand witness (me or my aunt) of it being placed inside.
Although I have no proof of seeing anyone actually do the "stealing"
other than having my lock clipped. Only the watches were stolen but my
clothes were not (of course, who wants 15-16 year old clothing anyway).
And I think that my aunt did file a report but I'm not sure how that turned out. (Aside from the fact that she never did get anything back).
As to why you are being so negative about my experience with airlines is a mystery to me.
Flying is outdated anyways. It is about time to start building speed trains from state to state.
I agree. We do a LOT of shipping here. FedEx is generally pretty cool and our normal driver seems to actually care about his job and our stuff. UPS is a different guy every other day and they are usually lowlifes that don't care about anything, let alone your goods. We've had monitors delivered with forklift holes punched through them, accordioned boxes, you name it, from UPS. FedEx delivers a slightly damaged boxes from time to time but the goods are usually intact. We also deal with freight companies when moving around big machinery... some of those guys are like straight out of jail and really don't care about your equipment. I've seen them push a piece of machinery (worth about $500k) about as big as a car off the back of their flatloader and it flipped over. Good thing they have insurance. I wanted to make the delivery guys pay for it themselves as they are the ones pissed at life or whatever their problem is.
Come to think of it... maybe people just don't give a shit about ANYTHING anymore if it doesn't belong to them.
Great video and all, but these guys are IDIOTS. Why would they check their precious guitars on a passenger airline. EVERYONE is told when they check a fragile item on a passenger airline that the airline DOES not provide insurance for these items. The airlines make you sign a "Limited Release Form" that clearly states the carrier is not responsible for breakage. If I really cared about the guitar, I would've driven or shipped the guitar by FEDEX or UPS with insurance.
Yes but who would ride them? Too many people want to drive their own vehicles because gas is still too cheap. The only reason it is so succesful in Europe is the truly outrageous price of gas there.
Sad but true, and now that America owns Iraq gas will continue to be under 4 bucks a gallon for a while.

Jokes on you dude, Iraq just sold the gas Contract to China and BP. America gets nada. That majorly pokes a whole blood for oil concept, guess we really were in Iraq for a noble cause after all.

You say that like it is a bad thing... WTF?
"I explained that I didn’t sign a waiver and that no waiver would excuse what was happening outside." What Dave (song writer) stated.
That part I don't believe. NO airline rep will accept a guitar without the passenger signing a "Limited Release waiver". No signature, no acceptance of baggage. These guys were just smart to do a video to capture the attention of United, but dumb to have checked their most precious asset. Would Picasso have checked his Mona Lisa? Clearly not.
Anyone know what I would get busted for if I booby trapped a briefcase with a spring loaded knife set to go off in the opening of said briefcase? would it count as assault with a dangerous weapon even if I wasn't there?
Yeah, shocking how his place of departure (Halifax), which was mentioned in the film, would also be near his place of residence...babygiorgio1 said:if you look on his website, it indicates that he's from nova scotia (canada). i was unaware that they were into country music

It all depends on whether you are a tree hugger
unfortunately it is all about intent

Or a communist.

or a Republican
How do you figure? Someone wants public transportation and apparently wants higher gas prices to force it... Doesn't sound republican to me... sounds commie. If it was higher gas prices for higher profit than I'd agree with you.
I thought we were discussing the differing points of view on who would want $4 and higher gas. Tree huggers would like it, the Republicans would hate it, in the short run at least.
Higher energy costs would actually be good for the economy in the long run as it would
1) Reduce comsumption($4 gas destroyed the SUV market)
2) spur developement and make alternatives like wind and solar power to become more viable, so that our money stays in America, instead of the $300 billion leaving every year.
