Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

^ hi there blackacidevil,
"LIKE OUR OFFICE SETUP?"

looks like we're both from another "you know what"
right? :)

I was pretty bored today so I started taking some shots with my new Nikon D90, here is the setup as of today.

if you look close you can see the new logitech G35 gaming headset. so far I am pretty impressed with them.

next project is to run some power behind the wall with another ethernet port so all the wires are hidden

what models are those? it looks perfectly aligned in the pictures.

dell 2007FP x2 on their sides to align with a dell 3007wfp-hc in the center.

the resolution is 1200x1600 to 2560x1600 to 1200x1600.. they are very very very very close but the dot pitch per pixel is slightly different between the 2 2007fp and dell 3007wfp-hc. but you have to be within a few inches of the monitor to notice a difference

Bought a new display, Samsung 2333SW. I got it really cheap, so I'm quite happy with it.

Damn Im starting to hate this apartment because it is so noisy.. I guess I'll be moving out in a month or so.. :) And no, I didn't clean up my apartment for these pics.

From the third picture I kinda knew this must be from somewhere from scandinavia. :D

thought I might as well post this here.

left is a Samsung 226BW right an Eizo SX2761W-BK
don't like the pixel density on 24 inch monitors, so it had to be 26 or 27 :D

Ok, this is a LOOONG ways from being completed, but here's a little progress towards my triplets:

Panels are 30" Gateway XHD3000's. The desk is getting replaced by a taylored Ikea corner unit. The cabling should all be hidden by wire trays at that time. The 5500's are getting upgraded to a 7.1 Reciever (Marantz SR5003) and 5.1 Speakers (Axiom) and all the equipment will be mounted in an A/V rack (Middle Atlantic) under the desk. I may even stick a mini-frige under there to keep my beverages chilly, dunno yet. ;)

Oh, and this is what it looked like this morning, lol:

That is one of the most epic things i've seen... awesome!

Nice literature too. Left Behind. :)

holy crap, there are some badass setups in here lately.. all of these 30 inch setups are pretty sweet

wowwww at fraak - nice

3 gateway 30's...i feel overwhelmed with a 30 and two 22's sometime...can only imagine what that kind of real estate feels like...

and as to ppl asking 'why'...you're on [H]...the answer is same as it ever was for all of us...we do it because we can...<g>

Couple quick questions ... Why have the gateway speaker under the monitors? And that setup would be pretty amazing on a couple monitor arms..

Just some thoughts.. Otherwise amazing stuff.. Love it

Some people have too much money. :D

some people work hard as well. besides, you have to remember people here range in age from their teens to their fifties. at my age, I would expect to be able to afford these setups.. after 25 years of school, I better be able to afford a lot of cool shit

Good literature indeed! My Frank Peretti's were too tall. ;)

Thanks for the compliments all. It has been a labor of love and I still have a ways to go. I'm just stuborn enough when I get a vision in my head I pursue it untill I get there. I've been working on this project for over a year already. Hoping to be done by the end of Summer, but we'll see.

As for why? There is no legitimate answer, lol. I do some photography, a little movie editing and a whole lot of gaming. That's about as close to an excuse for all this as I can come up with. :p I think Zentech hit the nail on the head:

Yup, he said it. :D Honestly, the only reason I've come this far is a job that works me a lot of over-time. I'm no rich guy, I make $20 and hour in manufacturing... there was no trust fund, lol. I'm currently working second shift, which has terminated most of my family and social life... so this is how I motivate myself to keep going until I can bid a decent shift and get to know my kids again. :(

I'll have more pics as things progress. I definately think the desk is the next purchase, this one suddenly became small.

The speaker bars are still on there for a couple reasons. The first is they simply make the monitor look more ominous and sizable while hiding stand and cords better. The second is the outter two monitors are run off my second computer, so they actually get used. I kept the bar on the center monitor for uniformity.

Monitor stands would be awesome! Given their cost and the fact I hope to be moving into a house where I can build my own "media room" in an unfinished basement, I had planned on waiting until later. Good call however. I completely agree with you.

Not hatin' on you, I think it's great that you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. I just can't bring myself to buy the latest and greatest knowing that it's just going to depreciate so quickly. As my title states, I'm just [H]lite. :D

:( <-- here I am wishing I can afford a 30" setup :(

Hahah, I'm in the same boat. I guess I question more, how I could ever personally afford $900+ monitors for use at my computer. Obviously if I was doing graphic design or computer development of some kind I could see it, but other than that, I'd rather spend that money on a big LCD TV.

But either way, no hate here...

That would be true, assuming you find a great paying job after school (which I can tell you hasn't been easy for most in the past year or two). Plus don't forget student loans...

monitors don't depreciate nearly as bad as other PC hardware does. The technology just does not move nearly as fast.

I highly recommend professional school after college, be it a master's degree or PhD in your area of study. It creates a higher level of income in most cases, or at least creates a faster track to a higher level of income, as well as provides you with a valuable asset that most jobs would consider you over a "lesser trained" person. In student loan situations, they can be paid back of a period of 20 years, but I had the luck to get paid to go through my master's degree program through assistantships.

ahhh now we understand your needs. me personally I use my computer more than I watch tv. so spending a good chunk on a nice tv makes less sense for me than putting more money into something I do more often.

you could also spend that money on the LCD tv and use it as a monitor as well, like many people do here. kill 2 birds with 1 stone, essentially
