I'm looking for a $200-$230ish X58 mobo and have narrowed things down to:

Asus P6T
Biostart X58A
Gigabyte UD3R (non-sli)
MSI x58 pro

I've read that the giga may have some issues with the NIC dropping out and it only has 4 dimm slots
The P6T seems to have some QC issues regarding memory slots.
The Biostar just isn't widely used or reported on.
the msi is just plain fuggly and my luck with MSI boards isn't the best

What are your experiences and recommendations?

i've had a p6t since early january and have had no issues with it what so ever. Asus even fixed the sleep mode issues with a bios update.

I have the UD3R and have had absolutely no problems with it. I grabbed the most recent NIC driver straight from Realtek and ignored Windows Updates version (it's still there trying to make me download it). Not a single problem with it.

Edit: Also, the 4 Dimm slots aren't so bad. Unless you have a dire need for 12gb right now, 6gb is just fine. Later on after DDR3 prices drop even further, it may be easy to replace the 2gb sticks with 4gb ones. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the less memory sticks, the better overclock.

I have this board too with no problems. Now with the latest BIOS update it is a SLI/Crossfire board.
