Hi guys,

I have 3 OS's installed. Vista and Windows 7 cannot see wireless networks, but when I log in to XP it is able to see and connect to networks.

I recently replaced the CMOS battery and also dismantled the PC for cleaning. After this the above symptoms came up.

Is this a driver issue? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled drivers to no avail.

I would assume this is on a laptop. What model/what wifi card model?

Hrm, kind of an off brand chipset as well. What is its interface? USB?

pci, it was running fine until i dismantled and reassembled (only changed the ram). Very peculiar since its a problem encountered only in vista and windows 7. Xp worked as it were

Have you tried changing the PCI slot it is in? Sometimes it can help with weird issues like that.

Another thing to try would be removing the driver in Vista/Win7, deleting the device from device manager, then reinstalling with the proper latest driver.

I already tried switching to a different wifi card (a pcie one), deleting all the previous wireless managers and drivers. The issue is still there, I'm going to try and do it again just to make sure.

verified Wireless Zero Configuration service is running on the Vista and 7 installs? no clue why it wouldn't by default, though.

yeah its called wireless auto config in vista, its running but still no. I've just resorted to a wired connection meanwhile. I'll try and sort this out and see if i get anywhere. thanks guys!
