Was wondering if anyone had any reviews? iBUYPOWER

ibuypower and cyberpower are middle tier vendors

you will hear horror stories and then hear good reviews

so buy with caution, if you do

Wouldn't trust them. Far too much of a bad rep for me to trust iBuypower or its cousin Cyberpower.

I bought a computer from IBuyPower maybe four years ago, and ran it for three before upgrading and giving it to my girlfriend.

For those years it ran just fine... very stable, never had any lingering issues to speak of. The only qualm I had was that I opted for a "water cooling system" (which was really cheap, something like a $40 upgrade over air cooling) and that sucker is loud. Don't know why, as I don't actually know anything about water cooling. But these days it runs at a fairly audible level, and on random occasions will just decide to spin up and run ridiculously loud for 10 seconds before chilling out. Oh well.

The problem is that if you have to call them for anything, at all, you are SOL. Their customer service is pretty much non-existant and as far as I'm concerned peddles in illicit activity.

I purchased from them about 3 years ago and am VERY satisfied with my purchase. I had no problems what so ever with them. I have most of the components still, I upgrade slowly as I see fit, but there was absolutely nothing wrong with anything I received from them.

Not sure what you mean by illicit activity, but there's been a lot of reports of them substituting cheaper or refurbed parts without the customer's knowledge. One guy I know ordered a system with an 8600 vid card,he discovered that the card he actually got was a cheaper 8500 with fake stickers and a heatsink/fan from god knows what card.

In Taiwan iBuy was considered a low end PC. You can easily put something together using top-tier manufacturers for less... IMO
