I am after a secure USB stick that in addition to encryption also provides a secure, encrypted Proxied browser that leaves no foot print on the PC.

I know or at least think I know that ironkey personal editions will do this.

Are there any competeing products that you would suggest looking at before I pull the trigger?

I'm pretty sure you could set up what you're asking for on just about any USB stick with free software.

I've never hear of IronKey before, but $130.00 for a 4 GB USB drive is waaayy outta my league!

You're looking for portable applications, many of which are free.

Even if you have to pay for 1 or 2 programs, 8 GB USB drives can be had for @ $10.00 after rebate.

Unless you need "advanced military-grade security", I'd be looking at alternatives.

The big thing you get from IRONKEY and the main reason I want it is they have secure proxie servers that allow you a encrypted private access to the web. walks through company firewalls and content filters. But unlike the free versions out there its a paid service so you get good performance. That is the big feature that attracts me.

I don't think any other flash drives auto destroys the data after a certain number of failed login attempts...

I posted a thread asking about flash drive security a few weeks ago, and it seems that Ironkey is the clear cut winner/best solution for what you're looking for.

Way beyond what I'll never need.

Good Luck!
