Warm - Western Digital Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT 320GB Notebook HDD $79.99 FS

Few bucks less, same amount of storage, but certainly not the same level of performance. Those WD Black drives, even in laptop form factors, are the best performing/fastest drives out there (save for the Velociraptors). Of the two, I'd take the WD 320GB every time unless it's OOS which it will be soon at that price. :)

And I don't count rebates in terms of cost. If it costs me <x> amount of money to get a drive, even if it has <y> amount of so-called MIRs behind it, as far as I'm concerned it costs me <x> out of pocket. I have no luck with MIRs anyway, out of about 15 in the past 5 years or so, only 1 of them actually showed up...

Easier to just buy shit at the <x> price and not get worked up over a so-called <y> rebate that may never come.

That Hitachi is $49.99 after the MIR if you get it - it's $89.99 minus $20 "instant rebate" so $69.99 on sale, then the MIR if it shows up leaves you with the final $49.99 + shipping... not $20 total. ;)

And you suck at filling out rebates if you've only gotten 1 back... I've received all of my rebates, Corsair, OCZ, Asus, Trendnet, Sapphire, Logitech, etc. etc. Everything from $5 to $30...

$50 AR > $80 any day... :p
 
I've got two of these WD 320GB Black HDDs in my Asus Laptop. These things kick some serious booty :D
 
I paid more than this for the 160GB version last summer. I wish I had the extra space.
