UT3 $11.99 on Steam & Free Weekend

This is great. I've had my copy since launch but I hope the games player base grows because of this. I know I have some friends who went out and picked up UT3 last week because of this patch.
 
Expected a price drop of Steam. Was hoping for $10, but $12 is quite good.
 
Awesome, with all the talk about it and the Titan Pack coming out, I'll definitely be picking this one up.
 
Makes me glad I got the Unreal pack for $20 after Christmas.
 
if epic isn t going to do anything about rampant cheating in UT3 then the titan pack should come with an aimbot.

It's like a 3-day trial of the full game. Once Monday rolls around you won't be able to play unless you purchase the game. If you like retail copies, Steam allows you to enter your CD key for UT3 and it'll add the game to your account and give you access to the Steam achievements and automatic updates.
 
Pretty good price for UT3 I must say. This reminds me that I need to register my retail copy on Steam.
 
Steam servers are on full load @ the moment, it doesnt let me download UT3 at all <_<
 
Steam has caused me to spend waaayyyy too much money lately. My wife is gonna shit a brick when she looks at my bank statements.
Oh well. $12 more bucks gone
 
Bought this about 3 hours ago and the download is as slow as dialup...6.3-14.3KB...eekkk!!

I never thought I'd see Steam on it's knees but now I kinda wonder as damn near all my shooters are served by Steam.

I guess the proverb about all ones eggs in one basket kinda applys!!

I'm getting 12.5 KB/s.

Started downloading about an hour ago and i'm at 2%. Good thing too, i have to go to work at 6:30 tomorrow.

Im kicking myself for not getting it during that deal. I decided to do it a day late.

Im wondering what the "black" parts denote.
user maps and mods still work with the steam version? Where would the files go?

The "Black" just means that it comes with the new patch and the Titan Pack. And the user maps and mods go into a folder that's located in the Documents\My Games folder.

Mine too... Another game to add to the pile of about 15 Steam games that I've bought during deals and haven't had a chance to play yet,
 
For $12, count me in.

And hey, I can test my 9600GT for PhysX :p
 
I'm starting to wonder how much of a trial I will have once it finishes actually downloading,
ah probably end up buying it anyway, need more twitch gameplay in my life
 
Bought last night, still will not download, servers are hammered.
 
i own the collectors edition since released day in 2007
i didn't have the game installed on my computer and i entered in my cdkey into steam
and it put the game in my game's list but it will not download it
and it is going very slow I got it download 30% so far and the bandwidth is off and on
i but i left my computer on all night and thats how far i have gotten.Either the servers are being hammered or something is wrong with steam servers.

The servers are being hammered. Yesterday afternoon I was getting around 800KB/s, but by the time the download was almost complete, I was down to about 150. I was lucky enough to grab it before they really got hammered.
 
Does anyone know if i can register my UNREAL collection (retail verison) with steam
like i did with UT3? Because i got this free when i bought UT3 collector's edition on release day. I would like to have this in my steam account so i would not have to rely on disc media
 
Nice deal, but I'm surprised that the servers are getting hammered. The game is over a year old and has been on sale many other places. MSRP is only $20, so it's not some unbelievable discount. Everyone must have high expectations for the Titan Pack.

I don't know for sure, but I would say probably not.
 
I haven't seen Steam this hammered in a long time (probably for orange box). . . .

I picked it up. I'd been considering beforehand. I loved Unreal and UT and hated what happened since (2k*) and the demo had promise.

They renamed it Warfare. Really the only difference between Onslaught and Warfare is the "orb" which can capture power nodes instantly, and the personal hoverboards which allow you to travel a bit faster than on foot.

And hoverboards can be switched off via the use of the mutator. :)
 
is there any word yet if the servers are working ? Iam still at work and only had 30% downloaded on my home computer !

How about it. I bought a handful of games... haven't even downloaded, much less played them yet.
