ok well I want a new monitor, and I have narrowed my picks to either this e2400HD or a samsung T240.

It will be used for 90% gaming, I dont really play any old games really so compatability with 1080P resolutions of the e2400HD shouldn't be a problem.

with a price match there both around $310cad (like $10 difference)

so what would you guys pick?

Xbox 360, PS3, or both?

I own the E2400HD for my 360 and love it. I've heard that 720p doesn't scale properly on it though.... so if you have a PS3 you might want something else.

I have no idea about the input lag or scaling on the T240, but I can tell you that I play Halo 3 and CoD4 on my BenQ and can't discern any input lag.

The Samsung Touch of Color series is quite impressive in certain circumstances and has surprisingly accurate reproduction considering the price range, but they are also known to have significant backlight problems (bleed as well as tint). I don't know so much about the BenQ series, but I would assume the picture quality is similar and the manufacturing may be free from some of the issues the Samsung panel has. I can attest that the Samsung has no noticeable delay and ghosting is minimal to the point of being a non-issue.

Honestly though, it really comes down more to your preferred aspect ratio and warranty than anything else.

I should of been more detailed, it will be almost all PC gaming and a few movies, I might hook my xbox 360 up to it later though.

So you don't need the Samsung for the accurate colors (if you were a designer) but it's still a nice monitor :)
