Creed fans ... greatest hits album $1.99 DL on Amazon

I dunno, Myles Kennedy's voice is almost as annoying as Stapp's.
I'd agree with that. With the right singer, they could be a top band again. Tremonti is awesome, regardless of what people say about Creed.

Nice to see someone agree with me about that horrible screeching! The guitar is really quite nice throughout the album. I would buy it if it had NO singing, let alone good singing.

Say what you want, Creed made some pretty monster hits back in the day and sold more records than any of us can dream of.

Mark Tremonti is a beast on the guitar.

Back in the day? What is that 5 - 7 years ago?

/agree

I don't give a shit about what people say about Creed or Alter Bridge. Tremonti IS awesome, getting to see him play live last year was a blast.

You know, that's probably my favorite part of creed's music: the guitar. I just can't stand the lead singer's voice. My sister is a big fan, and she thinks I'm crazy, but liking music or not is 100% subjective. I know some of you will get good mileage out of this deal. I picked up the Neil Diamond "Sweet Caroline" album for $1.99 as well. If you are Neil Diamond fans and it's still that price, I recommend it. Good album.

With Amazon having good prices and good quality on music, I think they're combating piracy more than ANY drm or RIAA policies or practices designed to prevent piracy. I'll even buy songs when they're not on sale sometimes, just to support Amazon's business. They are really trying hard to make good music affordable to everyone. $1.99 for a whole album? And guess what, it can copy right to your iPod, Sandisk MP3 player, or burn it right onto a CD - all for less than what iTunes charges (although iTunes is improving as well).

Maybe CD sales are down, but CD sales will only go up when artists fill a CD with truly good music - every track - not just a couple of hits with filler.

Go Amazon!!!

Don't think so Sir. We've got an entire generation that thinks Music (and probably movies) should be free. I see it at work where people who make 40-60k don't buy music and download movies off the web (including those in theaters).

Fact: Adjusted for inflation, CDs are significantly less than they were 20 years ago.
Fact: Adjusted for inflation Albums cost more than CDs currently cost, 25, 30 and 40 years ago.

I certainly don't recall paying 10 bucks for a new release 10 years ago (much as I might have liked that), which means that the cheapest disks are less than they were (with no adjustment for inflation) than they were 10 years ago. The most expensive, non-deluxe (e.g. with a DVD or 2nd CD) releases are generally about a buck or 2 more. My Cereal has gone up in price more than that.

Fact: Buying an album was always a crap shoot, especially if you were buying based on top-40.

We like to think that every album in the 70's was like Band On The Run or Goodbye Yellow Brick Rd. We tend to forget about the crap like Wings At The Speed of Sound, Back To the Egg (McCartney) and A Single Man and Victim Of Love (as well as enumerable bad albums they released over the next 10 years). The 80's was filled with bad albums, but nobody seemed to care, because the truth is that 2 or 3 songs was probably considered good enough. Why? Because if you bought 3 singles for about 2 bucks each, you were only 2 bucks shy of buying the album. Might as well buy an album and hope for the best. One good album made up for 3 marginal ones.

Then again, radio was a lot better at playing more tracks (at least Rock radio was) from albums so you had a better shot at determining if an album had enough music you liked to justify the price. Now that radio has settled on 30 new songs (regardless of format), there's really no way to tell, unless you steal or find a good internet radio station.

I can't believe y'all are actually arguing musical taste over the internet. That's about as useful/impactful as climbing up on your roof to crap down your chimney.

I love creed. To everyone asking "creed has fans?". yes. Over 30 million apparently.

My Own prison is one of my favorite albums of all time. They were the first band to have 4 number 1 hits on their debut album.

I like Creed as well. Along with a ton of other early/mid 90's rock. Seattle shizzle...

creed was not seattle

they came out in the post seattle era clean and radio friendly alt rock...this is the same era that brought us such classics as eve 6 and lit...

nirvana, pearl jam, mudhoney, candlebox, alice in chains, soundgarden, mother love bone, green river, screaming trees were most of the seattle bunch, with stone temple pilots and a few others were the grunge/seattle scene.

as for jesus overtones, i can't speak for weathered because i never bought it... but my own prison had a few, the title track was one.

there were even more on the second album, including the whole crossroads theme on the album art... sorry if i'm being vague, i haven't listened to them in literally years. I distinctly remember it being there. if i can find the cds i'll give it a listen... then maybe some dimmu borgir to make me feel better

Did I ever say Creed was part of the Seattle scene in my post? Anywhere? Nope. You made an assumption...

Nickelback's singer is way worse than Creed's. I was very amused when Nickelback got stoned in Portugal a few years ago. Creed's singer is simply nasally. Nickelback's singer sounds like he's on the verge of vomiting.

But, there are always fans. I'm not surprised it's only $2. Might as well make it free though.
