I just purchased a, eVGA GTX 285 and installed it in my Antec 900. I updated to the latest drivers, and everything is dandy on my 30" display. However, on my second monitor (a 24") the picture is shifted about five inches down and two to the left. The resolution is set to 1920x1200 for that monitor, but it does NOT appear to be as sharp as it was with my previous 8800 GTS 512.

I'm at a loss to fix this. My only thought is that, after observing the place where the DVI port physically meets the case and GPU, is that the connector is not able to seat all the way. Every other GPU I've seen in my life has always had ample room between the DVI ports and the metal bars that separate the PCI and PCIx slots, but this one is flush. I'm afraid that the DVI port is hitting the metal piece of the case before going all the way in.

Could this be causing my issue? If so, does this seem unusual to other 285 owners? I'd hate to RMA the card or cut away my case, but I'm at my wit's end now. Any insight or suggestions to fix my issues would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Trying putting your 285 in the case again and see if the metal piece still gets in the way.

I just installed mine, and noticed the same thing. Just loosten the card, push it a hair down and retighten.

Tried both of your suggestions, and still hasn't resolved my display issue. I can push the dvi ports down enough to get the cable connector under the metal, and it FEELS like they are down all the way, but I'm still getting the display error. I've tried both EVGA and Nvidia drivers, tried resetting my monitor, tried using the nVidia control panel...

Perhaps its just the card itself? I'd hate to RMA it... the performance increase at 2560x1600 is awesome.

Why not try taking the motherboard completely out of the case and test it then. It may be a pain but it could save you a potential RMA ordeal.

Away for the weekend, but a bump for any more things to try before I RMA on Monday!
