They have "green" drives, not necessarily named Green Power. Knowing and not trusting Buy.com, I'm not willing to risk it. Would be awesome if you get a WD10EADS and it isn't defective!

j/k IIRC the EADS is 3 platters, & the EACS is 4, correct?

I have an EACS that's almost full, & plan to put the new EADS in tonight. Wonder what the difference in HDTune speeds will be?

Don't forget less noise and less heat with 3 platters as well.

Add me to the list of those that deplore Buy.com. Good price, if you actually get what you want.
 
I'm leaning toward the Seagate at Dell...just looking for something to help me pull the trigger.

I saw significant difference. The WD10EACS benchmarked what I expected a "green" 5400rpm to benchmark as, the WD10EADS benchmarked better than my laptop 7200rpm drives, better than my 7200rpm IDE drives, better than my single platter Seagate 7200.10 250gb drives, and better than my older 3 platter Samsung 500gb 7200rpm drive.

The switch to 3 platters really brings some benefits. In fact, if I remember right, one of the benefits is that they cost less to manufacture as well. That's why the 3 platter drives cost more ....
