I played oblivion for awhile after release, and then something happened that really turned me off the game.
When it became clear that you needed to close all of the gates and that that was going to take awhile, i completely lost interest. It almost seemed like the bread and butter of the game was essentially the same quest over and over again, and it completely killed the experience for me. It has bugged me for the last few years because everyone seemed to enjoy it so much, and I began to think that I had missed some essential element of the game rather than it being poor quest trajectory.
Can anyone speak to this?
