I have played the version for 360, but it got boring after playing for half an hour. Is there anything different about it for pc? or is it just the same ole hum drum stuff?

no. get back to the baseball diamond. the ghosts of legendary baseball players will play baseball with you

 i giggled...not sure why.

Id rather kb/mouse anyday...that's just me though.

Its the same, but I've read (a lot) that the players in the PC community are generally better and a little less... faggoty? I think that was the word.

lol @ demon.

L4D is the same on pc, which is to say it gets boring fast.

I actually have a LOT more fun with the game on PC than I did when I bought it for 360.

Also, this game is only played to its potential if you have friends to play it with. Random players on your team are usually a recipe for 4chan disaster.

Its fun when you play with 3 other people that you know, to complete the expert campaigns. I play with 3 friends and we're on our 3rd campaign... Its just mindless shooting zombies, something that you can get sucked in for an hour and then get back to your life after you have your daily quota of zombies.

I just hate when people take it too seriously. I don't screw around myself but there's always gotta be some cry baby that gets pissed because he thinks he's the leader and everyone needs to do what he tells us.

Usually the same idiot that runs way ahead of everyone else

BORING.

L4D was a great idea, stomped into the ground back a severe lack of content, missing SDK has stopped the community from fixing that particular problem, way to go valve.

It's all coming out soon, not like L4D is permanently gonna be boring. Plus Valve and deadlines are strangers.

I must say boring. I bought it the day it came out. I still havent played it. I only played the demo and got bored of it with just that.

I'll agree with the crowd. I played it on a friends computer and it was numb after about 30 minutes. Same gameplay gets old quick. Valve needs to get back to TF2.

Nope. Just as "faggoty", just as blundering and mindless.

Huge zzzzz, don't waste your money. Same handful of levels over and over and over, if you've beaten it once you've been it 1000 times.

AI Director, woohoo, your monsters spawn in different locations and different doors are locked! O MAI TEH CHALLENGZ!1!!1!!

Great game, should have gotten it for half price this weekend. Much more fun online than solo.

everyones talking about coop, but versus is a lot of fun. theres a lot of skill involved and when the infected is working as a team, its a beautiful thing :p

If you played the demo and didn't like it avoid it... It's the same mostly just more maps... and deeper levels...

I personally think it is a sweet and challenging game.

And for those of you who are complaining about content it IS on the way... in the Spring we should be finally be seeing the addition of the other 2 campaigns in multiplayer. possibly some new campaigns, AND an entirely new multiplayer mode SURVIVOR! No idea what it is... But I know it will be fun... As well as releasing the SDK to the public. So we should begin to see a influx of new content soon. but I agree that it seemed rushed and lacking content... But Valve ALWAYS delivers... the devilery date is always up for discussion though...

I called it. Got a lot of flak for it, but I was right, as always. When're people going to learn to just fuck up and listen to me? Sillies.

this game is more of an expansion pack or mod of css. nothing great about this game and i have wasted £30 on this. never will i fall for the hype again.

game lasted me a few days before i got sick of it

Sounds like cheap entertainment to me ( compared to going to the bar, or gambling ), Guess it depends on you expectations.

Not sure I agree. Sure, there are some random players that plain old suck but at least they try and usually do improve and its a lot less common than on the console version. Saturday night I had a packed VS game with people I knew (all 8 of us were old timers in a CS clan) and that shit was non-stop laughter and fun. Skilled and known players make all the difference, and I'm not sure a scenario like that would be happening on consoles that often, if at all.

I've been long bored of Counter Strike for oh...10 years or so. I don't really feel this game has much of anything to do with it other than the Source Engine.
L4D is a lot of fun, especially with friends in VS. mode, although it is painfully short. The PC version's no different from the 360 unless you just count being able to jack the resolution up.
Aiming in L4D isn't twitchy AT ALL, so the 360 version and PC version are even closer in that regard.
Player skill on the 360's lower overall, but that's just the nature of consoles. There are still some damn good players out there.
Once the other two maps are finally unlocked it's a pretty good value, although it's pretty short right now.
I think you might get bored with it quickly, but if you buy it now, you'll be getting bored right when the other two maps come out.

If you get it at Circuit City, the game can be had for like $30 now.

Yeah, one person's opinion agreeing with you obviously proves you were "correct." Next time I'm sure everyone will ask you for your opinion before we play anything.

I agree completely, the game is fun for a while, and just because you can't play it forever hours without getting bored doesn't mean its not worth the money. Some people seem to expect that their $25 (which is chump change) should provide them with hundreds of hours of entertainment or else the game sucks. What else do you people do for entertainment that makes $25 for a weekend expensive?

L4D has great multiplayer and you can easily have a great gameplay experience for 15-20 hours. If all you do is play single player for 5 hours and toss it aside, that's fine, but don't complain, because you're a moron for buying a primarily multiplayer game and not even really playing it.

I find it great mindless fun. Nothing too serious and can jump in anytime without ever missing anything.

Take a read of the rest of the posts. Maybe even go and play the game a bit.

I've been vindicated. You can try and trivialise it if you want, but there's no arguing that I am simply splendid in every conceivable way.

I heard that the PC has a jacked up zombie count. You know, since thumbsticks are slow to respond and whatnot. Is that true?

The cool thing about the PC is that there is an SDK, allowing the community to create their own content for the game. They're generally not up to the quality of content from Valve, but they do add some more value to the game.

I only play L4D with my friends... it's generally not as fun without them. :4D is better for its funny moments than anything else... there's a lot of comedic value in it!

To be honest, I don't even play Versus mode and I still think it was worth the $50 I paid for the PC version. I'm excited to see what the community will bring to the game.

Playing it on expert you can have your hands full of zombies. Versus is pretty fun if you have 4 players on each side throughout the whole campaign. Coop mode is a blast if you play with friends on expert.

It's a fun game if you want to go in and kill hordes of zombies or try to kill some humans and break the status quo of zombie shooters (and movies).

L4D coop can be a bit boring if you play it a lot, and not with people you know. but then, WoW, AOC, and other mmorpgs are boring grindfests, yet people play them. maybe L4D needs sparkly swords awarded at the end of campaigns

Not that I've seen. I played 'em both and the PC one looks better for sure (higher resolution, more details, etc.) but gameplay was the same.
D4D isn't a pinpoint accuracy shooter anyway. A shot or special attack in the general vicinity tends to snag people. I found it actually funny that higher resolutions have a small crosshair...but it seems like anything within the crosshair lands. I played at 800x600 just to see, and it seems like the lower res folks get a break in that regard.

I'll one up you, how about you read the rest of my post?

Agreed!

I still find it loads of fun because you never know whats going to happen. It's always slightly different and those times you see something move at the corner of your screen and you freak and gun down your own guy just adds the fun.

It's what you make of I guess. Hell, I would get bored of any MMO in about 2 hours but this I can play for hours on end.

Though it's too bad they aren't adding new campaigns and I fear survival mode will be boring as hell if it ends up being what I think it will be.

L4D is way fun but you have to play with friends, I even got my gf into it (infact we have a team of half girls half guys) and we play every weekend. Oh yea this is on the 360, I have two consoles in rooms right next to each other, so we are yelling back and forth the whole time and it is none stop hilarious when we are getting jumped, or sneaking past witches, or shooting each other thinking their zombies. If you have no friends to play with it is not worth getting.

even if you don't have any to start, you'll meet some good players that you had a really good time with and then get them on your friend list. My wife likes to watch as well.

I'm having a blast with Left 4 Dead. I have it on Xbox 360 and just bought it for PC during the Steam 50% off weekend sale. It plays the same on both platforms, although the PC version can look better visually if your hardware can handle it, and you'll have the ability to use a keyboard/mouse instead of a controller.

Like the majority of people are saying, this game is best enjoyed with friends and family. On the Xbox 360, I've been able to get full versus games started with friends and family. Nothing beats playing Left 4 Dead with a full group of people you know.

I played the versus mode on PC last night with a friend, and the experience was enjoyable as well. The people that joined our game were, for the most part, friendly and looking to have fun. They didn't take the game too seriously, and we had a great time. Both sides (Humans and Infected) were complimenting each other when they were working well as teams, and there were many hilarious moments. When playing as Humans, my team made it to 99% and got annilahated by the Infected right before we reached the second safe house on No Mercy. Although we lost, we were all joking and laughing as the chaos ensued.

If anyone has this on Xbox 360 or PC and is looking to play with a group of casual players who are looking to have fun, you are more than welcome to join my friends and I when we play.

It was only $25. I'll pay that for a DVD I may watch a couple of times. I've already got more than a couple of hours out of L4D, and I'm looking forward to more tonight!

lol I like doing that every once in a while just for fun. It really makes people that take the game WAY too fucking seriously pop the vein in their neck. I'm sure most of us that have been playing for a while have beaten all the missions already on expert by now, so what's a little fun? :D
