The username and team# is set when the CD is downloaded. If you go to the link that EA posted, you put that and a couple configuration options in and its put into the CD that you download.

I have downloaded the VMware appliance from http://reilly.homeip.net/folding/vm.html it seems to be working just fine its just folding under notfreds username. (its not that i dont think he deserves it, I would just prefer the points go towards the [H]orde.)

When you started the VM, you should have seen an IP address within your local network like maybe 192.168.something.something. Enter that IP into a browser and you'll connect to the VM with selections to configure it and reboot it. After you configure it, you have to restart/reboot it. The VM appliance really is sweet.

If you didn't see the IP addy, stop and restart the VM and watch the boot screen.

Thanks EA. I might just run this on the second dedicated boxen until I can find additional GPUs.

I truly wish VMWare would come up with a version of their software that uses more than 2 cores. I hate having to run 2 of these on a C2Q. It became too much of a chore and one of the reasons I went to WCG. Rock solid and ultra stable.

Thank for that, worked like a charm.

They do have versions that use more then two cpu cores, but those versions Start at $2500 and go up from there .....

Let me rephrase. I wish VMWare would create a product that uses more than 2 cores that us common folk can use and afford. I'd be willing to give them $25 for the software:p

The free version of ESXi supports quad core virtual machines.... provided your hardware is supported of course. I'm currently folding with Ubuntu on one. Total out of pocket cost to VMWare: $0.00.
