When Intel announced the 80-Gbyte, 2.5-inch X25-M mainstream SSD in September, the company priced it at $595 for quantities up to 1,000. Now, that price has dropped the price to $390. Intel priced a similar 160-Gbyte version of the drive at $945 in December, then dropped it by 19 percent to $765 in the latest price revision.
The 32-Gbyte X25-E's original price was $695 when Intel announced it in October; now, Intel is charging $415, a difference of 40 percent. For the first time, Intel revealed the price of the 64-Gbyte X25-E: $795.
