CoolerMaster V10! (56k warning)

question for the OP.... The temps up above are under load right?

What the hell does your chip idle at?

Yes full load prime95 :)

Idle my best so far has been 28C but im having some issues with my CPU temp readings being believable in the lower ranges.

Also, i'll get you guys a picture of the piece i had to SAW off(dremel broke :p)
Yes, i ghetto modded with a handsaw. ;)

The V10 said something about also featuring a TEC on the cooler somehow? Maybe I'm stupid, but I don't see it. And that's probably the ugliest cooler I've ever seen. Cooler Master seems very hit or miss when it comes to their stuff not looking like cheap crap. I'd expect that from Thermaltake or Sunbeam, but not Cooler Master.

I think looks has to do with the persons taste, I don't think its ugly, but it's no TRUE either.

And as far as the TEC, I'm pretty sure it's like this:

thats right :)

Sorry i didnt post it. I just didnt have time to get it open in paint and alll. :p

I'll try to get you guys some more performance screenshots. There should be other Beta testers out and about that have some pictures and benches as well.

Check these pictures out. Note the major differences in the design. Since the V10 was designed it seems with air cooling in mind, the performance should be phenomenal now it has TEC.

Check 2008

Note the differences between 2009 the TEC is added and the memory hood portion is raised:

Hrmmm.. first thing I would to is to get rid of that air flow restrictor (the grill).

Now if it weren't way too expensive.. asI am guessing it will be, I think I would have to seriously think about getting one.

As it is, I think 3.74Ghz on my currect setup isn't to shabby.

Pretty sure if its removed at best it will drop temps by a degree. Im actually very intersted in this cooler to replace my trusty old typhoon that has served me well for 2 years. Like cyclone said, i predict this to be decently priced, in the $90 area. Russian, tell me if im warm or cold or nda. ;)

Ding Ding Ding! NDA! :)

My guess would be 100+, the cheapest I have seen other TEC coolers were in the 120+ range. Being that the V8 is 70 bucks and is just a (much smaller) HS with no goodies on it like the v10, yeah, I don't see it being "cheap". If this thing did sell in the "$90 area" though, I would sure be the first one in line for it.

Thank you Russian for the data and the pictures.

I will be obtaining aQ9450 or a Q9550 for my upcoming build. The noise versus price comparison is what is driving me. When you approach the one hundred dollar range and above, high performance coolers should be relatively quiet while cooling very well. A low cost water solution (under $150) is very quiet and cools quite well. If the V10 TEC can be kept under $100 and under 26DBa, it would be worth considering.

I am quite interested in obtaining one! let me know when you find out! but i have corsair dominator ram, not sure it would fit with that massive heatsink. Currently using a coolermaster v8 and i'm impressed with it.

ufokillerz, go to page one where i posted a picture of someone who had dominator memory and was able to get it to fit successfully.

Thanks for this preview! I have been anticipating the V10 and Hopefully someday V12 coolers. This things look like a beast, I look forward to buying new ram just so I can use it!!! (Dominator is pretty tall, doubt it will fit).

If you go read the previous post, or go to page one you'll see that dominators should fit fine.

Is the V10 or V12 better than the TRUE 120?

Just bought one, and it looks dwarfed compared to those -_-.

Not 1 person who has reviewed this beta so far has done so on a very high OC so it's still too early to tell.

If he was getting 60c+ load temps at 3.6 on a q6600 then I can say its not much better than a Core contact freezer, TRUE, S1283, etc... if at all. (depending on his ambient temp, vcore)

But I am waiting for more reviews before I pass final judgement :).

I think this thing is on another league of its own do to its design, Meaning, even if it does not beat a true, its still better if not the best due to it being more than just a cpu cooler. Which is what is keeping me interested in this thing for my cooler upgrade.

Yes theres other coolers like this out, for example the gemini. So bite me if you bring it up.

Note that the V10 will dump heat from the TEC. It will likely increase case temps slightly. Still, the idea seems workable.

The Gemini II was just terrible for PC use (PITA). I have 2 of them, but I used them to cool audio equipment.

I doubt it, thats depending on how good your case circulation is. Even then, i think the tec is not activated until it detects high heat coming from the cpu.

The gemini was decent, buddy of mine has it with some thunderblade fans i gave him and he gets better temps on his Q6600 @ 4.0ghz then me at 4.0ghz on the q9550

Just saw this crop up as 'Coming Soon' at FrozenCPU. No price listed yet though. Seriously debating scooping the V10 instead of a TRUE Black if I can squeeze it into a P182! Anyone see it popping up anywhere else around the web? I'm getting excited now! :D

Saw it on a site somewhere listed at $102.

Thats a great deal for a 300W cooling solution. For $140, if It cools better than a Coolit Freezone or a $80 TRUE with two high performance fans, its worth considering.
