I have been having lots of issues getting a striker extreme to work so I pulled the cpu just to reseat it I saw this:

It's not me right, that pin is bent?

and if so what are my chances of bending it back?
And whats the best way to fix it

It looks bent for sure...I didn't think it was possible to bend those...

how the hell did It happen?

you can try and bend it back..they are kinda spring loaded though...might be tough...it also might break...not too sure how tough they are...

if you can at least get it semi back in position, it should be fine as long as its touching the proper pad on the CPU...

I wonder if it shorted anything. It looks like is is in contact with the other pin. you should see if you can send it in.

I think I fixed it well enough....

talk about sweating bullets, I think I held my breath for like 5 minutes while I did it...

yeah maybe it's toast, it seems to run through everything ok, then displays COM/LPT and shuts off.

Any idea what that means?

Doesn't sound good, that's for sure. Is it a blue screen or something in windows?

no the motherboard has a little lcd screen on the back that displays post codes

Yes they are, but apparently in this case it was angry because the case fan was not hooked up right... strange, but it seems to be running fine now

This is good news...these boards are overclocking monsters..:)

Dimsum steady hands you have. Took me an hour of sweating and frustration to bend one of those pins back into place after my shirt sleeve snagged on and bent it.

I actually work in a jewelery repair dept. so I have lots of fancy scopes and tools at my disposal for messing with little tiny metal things...

...but I actually used a push pin to fix it... you might be surprised what you can do with a push pin...

I remember getting a processor that had a bent pin back in the p4 3.0 ghz days. Tried so many things to try to bend that thing and all I had to do was bend it back up straight.. so props to you for pulling that off..
