BFG 9800 GX2's in stock @ the EGG

I may be in for 9. does BFG have some sort of "step up"?
 
not quite yet. but I figure within the next 2 weeks, I'll have 3 boxen up and running with 3 x 9800GX2's.

Plus if things really work out, I'll be updating my sig rig to a Core i7 rig with 3 x eVGA GTX280 SSC's. I had thought about seeing if Quad-SLI (with 2 x GTX295) was an option, but frankly it may be just too damn expensive. The GTX280 SSC's can be had on 'egg for $354 a pop.

3x $354 = 1062. A GTX 295 is ~$500. 2 (quad SLI), ~$1000. What? Your math makes no sense.
 
I lost my job on Monday so it put a small road block in front of me, but I was well prepared (knew it was coming), so I've been working feverishly for the last several months on my own consulting firm. I did do some work last year, but just enough to make things better for the wife (she had a very wonderful christmas). I'm about to sign a consulting contract for 9 months at an insane hourly rate :)

My present to myself will be all of the above.

I just have to wait for signatures before I buy or my wife will literally kick my ass

Hmm. Damn excel spreadsheet. You are correct. My math (or rather Excel's sucks).

I may just have to do Quad SLI
 
I was just about to post this. Good stuff. Make sure they go in folding rigs!
 
feck me, 4 days before pay day and New Egg is now out of stock on all GX2's (again). :(
 
They had 55 just the other day (Thursday). Damn those went QUICK!!! I guess I will have to go with 8 x eVGA GTX295's then for my dedicated boxen and the update to my sig rig.
