were probably going to lose out on some points tomorrow/today.. all 3 of my systems will be offline for about 6-8 hours due to us getting new carpeting.. but all my laptops will still be running so hopefully i wont take to much of a hit on points..

Tight race day today. We're on a slight downward trend while AnandTech is on a slight upward trend. We're still in positive territory though and just have to finish out a couple more (well 6 actually) days.

That's cool petrusbroder, have a safe trip :). Don't sweat
the stats update thing, I think our newest HDCotM brother, nomad8u, can handle it. I thank you, and I'm sure others do also, for your stats updates concerning the WCG challenge :)

IMO that's one the great things about DCing. If one person bails out, has some technical probs or is affected by an "act of God" (hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, etc) there's always someone to take his/her place, "no one" and I repeat "no one", is indispensible or "game breaking" important to any DC program. I'll admitt a "heavy duty" folder can affect the team they're on and it's pernt average, but IMHO the project in general will continue on unaffected. (hell, just look how long F@H has been clicking, I imagine the "old timers" have seen a lot of people come and go) ;)

Ahh...., I don't think brother nomad8u was referring to making great strides thru any particular DCing program or any possible ways to attract more participants or current participants from increasing their potential. :confused: I think what brother nomad8u was saying was in the context of competition (which has shown to be very important to DCing) Also, I don't think he was using the word "pain" in the literal sense as some kind of bad physical feeling, but I think he was using it as in the well know expression : "the agony of de feet" (or something like that) :rolleyes:

OTOH, I hope DCing and helping find a cure for some very fu*cked up diseases points the world in a better direction. DC for the cure, even though we have the "grammar police" (not to be confused with your father or mothers mother ;)) always on alert. :D

Are there work units that are known to have errors. Every now and then i get one that errors out right at the beginning of the calculation.

Depends on OS and work unit but yeah, CEP has had problems on many machines. I had one error out close to teh beginning but ran a bunch ok. I've seen people have issues with HPF2 as well. Some are more OS prone to issues than others. CEP does NOT like Linux for example but it's still in Beta I think.
 
Rather off day for both teams. Must be a lot of results waiting to validate. We did still manage to put the smackdown on Team Creampuff though.

On a side note, stats will be delayed tonight and tomorrow night. I'm working overnights so won't be here when the stats are posted. Unless somebody else snags them and post them up, they'll get posted around 7AM the next two days.

nice work to you guys as well... now lets get another race going again... that was fun trying to borg every friggin pc that existed in my house.. and yet i still have more to borg!!! i just need a reason to borg them now.. :p

l definitely agree brother Razor_FX_II. IMHO the mighty ]H]orde has the best DCing teams on the "Net" and it seems anyone that has the audacity to challenge us will probably get their "clocks cleaned" because we do know how to band together and kick some arse. :p

Great job brothers and sisters :D Once again I feel proud to be a member of the mighty [H]orde. I also feel privileged to be part of the many people around the world that choose to help humanity thru DCing. ;)

Very nice finish and a great job everyone! A couple of highlights that I think are notable. From teh start of the challenge we recovered from a 1,407,492 point deficit to end with a 1,264,934 point lead. Our total average increase in production for that time period was 29%.Outstanding!

Also notable in my opinion was the fact that Team AnandTech had another interteam race ongoing during December as well with F@H. So their efforts were split. They did a fantastic job as well and I think it would have been a different competition if it was just a heads-up WCG race. Either way it was interesting and fun.

One final item of note that kind of got lost in the heat of our battle. We were enrolled in a couple of other WCG Challenges during December.
The Columbia Gorge is Beautiful. We took 1st place in that.
Europe World AIDS Day Challenge. We took first in that as well.
WCG Cannonball Run!! 08. We took a second place finish in this one.
Christmas Race 2008. We had a 4th place finish here. and lastly,
World of Green III. also a 4th place finish.

If it wasn't for fellow members, such as yourself, I'd a' never even known we were in other WCG Challenges during the month of December (d'oh :rolleyes:)
Please keep us abreast (not to be confused with "boobies") of other WCG Challenges :D
