Hey Guys, just a heads up...I oredered 2 PC cases last week with neweggs GURANTEED 3 day service. However, UPS has rescheduled my delivery another 2 days so I contacted newegg and they know about UPS rescheduling alot of orders.

All I did was log into thier live chat and told newegg and they didnt even hesitate to refund my shipping! and it was a good $45.

So just a heads up if anyone has recently ordered anything, If UPS' tracking has it scheduled beyond 3 days, you wil get your shipping refunded to you thought the egg!

Eggcelent!

Neweggs customer service is very good, you can get them to give you return shipping labels and the restocking fees by asking nicely.

The only time I've ever returned something to them is a non-Linux-friendly wireless card.

They refunded my money, restocking fee included, which I did not even ask for, and let me actually keep the card.

bought a flash drive the sunday before xmas, and it shipped "egg-saver" or aka DHell.

still havent gotten it yet, and the tracking info is invalid.

Newegg says to wait a few more days, but Im getting tired of waiting for something I should have by now.

kgeier82, always buy at least one item with pay for shipping. That way if they come from the same warehouse, you don't get DHL.

Their "egg saver" shipping is a joke. I ordered 2 SD cards and it took 9 business days to get from their warehouse in Memphis to Oklahoma City which is about a 6-7 hour drive. From now on, I'll just do as the above poster suggested and start paying for shipping on one item.

Always worked for me in the past at least. Ordering some items today. I'll reply here and tell ya if it works. 2 are shipped free, 2 are pay for shipping.

It's good to know that thanks for the heads up, but you did had to ask them to refund you, this is not something that they're proactive about ;)

Well heres the thing...I didn't get a chance to ask...they just offered. I started out just saying "my item is going to be shipped beyond your guaranteed 3 day service." Before I could ask for compensation...they responded saying "UPS has rescheduled alot of deliveries due to the holiday season but we will be glad to refund your shipping costs." Normall this wouldnt be a big deal to me cause my normal items are either free shipping or very little cost. But I got 2 PC cases for a total of $45. Maybe they didnt realize it was going to be that much ;)

Wish I get a refund on a few orders that were shipped by UPS in the past. They literally took a 2 week trip around USA before being corrected and ship to me.

Hot deal, in for one!

ps. send this to correct forum plz.. =)

Just make sure you don't buy an item listed as non-refundable (i.e. almost all LCD's they sell), they won't give you a refund under any circumstances.

UPS guarantees the shipping. UPS refunds to Newegg. Newegg refunds to the buyer.

Normal course of business.

I've received many shipping refunds from Newegg over the years. UPS, as well as FedEx, has at best a 50% on-time delivery record to my house. I've requested Newegg add USPS shipping many times, but they don't so I just keep getting shipping refunds.

well I am somewhat understanding because of xmas last thursday, and now new years day this thursday. As of today though, its been 7 Business days, plus xmas and years tomorrow.

If I dont have my little flash drive on friday, ill be calling newegg. There is a rebate that needs shipped 21 days after purchase, and they have already said theyll refund me that cash if not given enough time to mail the rebate in.

Its a shame, coming from NJ to MD, you would think I wouldve had it by say YESTERDAY. Its just a flash drive. I am tolerant to circumstances, but Im getting to the end of that on friday. 2 weeks for a flash drive is a little "much."

Good luck if it was shipped DHelL. I live 70mi east of Pittsburgh PA the shipping for a flash drive I ordered was: NJ - KY - USPS - oops, no we sent to Iowa - Pittsburgh - USPS. Even discounting the fubar thier routing was about 3x as long as the shortest route between DHL locations. The closing of DHL-NA doesn't come as a shock to me in the least.

I don't love DHL (mostly because they always leave stuff sitting at my door, instead of leaving it in the office), but I've never had any serious issues either.

OTOH, when I was in Dallas, UPS regularly misplaced items once they arrived in Dallas. And instead of immediately looking for it, they'd claim that ground can take up to 7 days (or whatever), even though it'd been IN DALLAS for 2 or 3 days. A friend's HD DTV Tivo didn't arrive until after a replacement was shipped and received...same exact scenario.

I've had problems with UPS as a shipper too. I believe all of my DHL shipments came from Fry's, and there was never a problem.

I had a wireless card ship via DHL and it actually ended up arriving through the US Postal service. Was in my mailbox. Was odd.

wow i seen this and got excited because i order a 1tb drive and it got delayed and then i realized it had free shipping lol

I was upset when i first placed my order, and got the tracking #'s for my rig in sig. My mobo, ram and CPU would get here the 30th, and my GFX card wasn't supposed to get here till the 2nd..

Well low and behold my GFX card showed up today, and the rest yesterday.. I was pretty surprised to arrive home and a box the size of a GFX card was sitting there.. especially expecting it to arrive Friday..

I will definitely keep and eye on the shipping time of the DVI-D cable I ordered, as I can see it taking a while this holiday season.
It would be nice not to paying the same shipping cost that I did for the item o_O;

I purchased some blank dvds and dvd dl's from cheifvalue, which is newegg and was shipped the 26th, took ups days to update and now shows a rescheduled delivery date of the 5th.. week and a half for 3 day shipping.. sucks.

I normally don't contact the retailer in regards to late shipping since it's most likely the carrier to blame.

Plus I would feel a little greedy otherwise.

UPS guarantees shipping times and dates so Newegg is probably getting a refund from UPS. Hell, Newegg is large enough that they may have an automated system and grabbing refunds for all late purchases.

You are not UPS's customer in this transaction, Newegg is. UPS can/will not refund to you directly.

I had a package shipped Monday the 22, and didn't get till the following Monday (4 business days). I let it slide cause its the holidays, but it did cost me $8 for 3 days.

Does this circumstance warrant contacting them about free shipping?

I live in Sacramento which in the past I get my newegg stuff 2 days after I order (order on a Tuesday it's here Thursday or Friday tops). I placed an order for a new HD, ram, some crap for my dad's comp b/c I want to reformat THIS WEEKEND b/c I have 4 days off in a row.

I got the "shipped" notification today.

Package shipped 12/31 and will arrive 1/6. So it ships on a Wednesday and shows up the following Tuesday. Keep in mind New Years day is only one day. wtf?

I ordered a ATI HD4870 (free shipping) on the 24th and it didn't lship until the 30th. It supposed to be here tomorrow, but I doubt it since it doesn't yet show up as arriving at it's first destination.

I have everything else but no pci-e video card. Bah! Humbug!! I have rebates to send in but am tryiong to hold off until I can test everything and make sure it works before cutting the proof of purchase off the baxes.

Good to know. As I had an overnight I needed by monday but then due to some weather we got, further delayed it.

This is good. I had purchased a 9800GT from newegg along with a new logitech keyboard and it was shipped on 12/28 and its gonna be here on 1/5. I went "WTF!" That's more than 3 days you retards. I guess this is why newegg has the best customer service in the world.

Thanks OP!

I ordered a SDHC from them on the 25th using 3 day shipping...........still hasn't showed up,scheduled for Monday.............needless to say, I'll be giving them a call.

Dude, it's not just Newegg. It seems to be happening with other online resellers as well.

First of all, most shipping carriers are closed during the Holiday Season (ex: New Years) and won't ship until later. I ordered a few items on Christmas Day and it said it would be delivered by Monday, Dec. 28 but got rescheduled to Jan. 5.

I had the same thing happen to me.
I ordered a motherboard overnight, to be delivered on the 23rd of December.
UPS dropped the ball and it arrived on the 24th. No big deal really, but not what I paid for.
I went on live chat just to ask for the difference between overnight and two day delivery; I mean the package arrived, after all.
The newegg guy didn't hesitate.
Refunded the entire shipping fee, which was 31 dollars.:D
That is some nice gesture, the guy said he just wanted to make sure I was happy shopping with them.

To make a point, I ordered some parts from mwave 2 day during the same time frame. They didn't show up until the 4th day. I went to them to ask for a refund for the difference and they were very difficult to deal with.
The lady tried to blame it on rain in So.California and other crap which wasn't true.
Finally they gave me a 10 dollar mwave coupon, now newegg refunded the entire shipping back to my credit card no questions asked.

Guess where I'm shopping from now on.

Now some of your examples above are no doubt holiday issues. UPS was closed on Christmas and New Year's day. They did not pick up packages last Friday, the day after Christmas due to alot of businesses closing, the same may be true today.....go to the UPS website and check their holiday schedules.......that is no doubt why some packages aren't being delivered until Monday.......and you won't get a refund for that.

Ever since the Egg moved to UPS as it's shipper of choice people have complained about the service and rightfully so.

While I could not get a CS manager to spill her guts the egg is well aware of the UPS problems and is moving toward fixing things.

If you order a small, mailable item it goes to FedEx who has a deal with the Post Office (USPS) however they use DHL to "expedite" that service. We all now know there is nothing expeditious about it at all.

Unfortunately this all went down during the Christmas Season and the Egg has been way cool about keeping people happy. Just imagine changing shipping software during the busiest time of the year.

Reason two for this switch is an attempt to keep shipping costs lower for everyone.

It remains to be seen if this partial renewal of business with FedEx will lead to the Egg making the big switch, all we can do is wait and see.
