When gaming on it with 360 and PS3 through HDMI, the screen will flicker (not the entire screen) with white little glitches/spark-ish flicks on random places on the monitor.

I've tested and concluded it ONLY does this on 1080p. It does not happen on 1080i or lower.

Anyone else with this monitor have this problem?

The only time when I had a similar problem is when I tried using a KVM switch on my 3007WFP. Sparklies would show up on high resolutions only. When I unplugged the KVM, everything was OK. Can you try another cable?

Tried 2 cables. One I had before the monitor, and one that came with the monitor. Same result.

Same thing happens to me on my BenQ E2400HD at 1080p through HDMI. VGA seems to fix the problem.

(I'm talking about 360)

This is really, really upsetting. If I can't find a fix, this monitor is going back.

I do not have this problem with my HP 2408h on either the PS3 nor the xbox 360.

I have tried both in the last week and verified.

I suspect a cable problem as well - I know it's a pain - but I'd try a 3rd cable. Look up the difference between a single link cable and a dual link cable. Maybe try a dual link cable in case your getting extra interferance or something.

Samsung - I just checked.

I have the LPL, apparently a horrible version between the two. But I really don't wanna get involved in a game where I keep returning it until I get the holy grail Samsung version.

I wonder how much difference there is between the two in reality? Some of these types of things are urban legends...

I've heard stories of people getting an LPL_, having horrid bleeding and blurry colors, the works, then returning it, getting a Samsung, and saying it's an almost entirely new display.

I was going to use this as my main, but I love my LG246 too much. So I'm just going to return this HP and get an Acer H213H

I'm simply gonna set it off to the side and use it as a gaming monitor, not as my main monitor.

About the cable, what are you using? Are you using the HDMI cable that came with the set, or a different one?

Different. I'm using a HDMI to DVI cable I bought at wal-mart on clearance one time. It's a single link Phillips cable - but works like a charm.

www.monoprice.com has cheap HDMI to DVI cables.

I see. I'll try this.

Never used DVI though. Does it go in the VGA slot on the monitor? And it stays a digital signal (unlike analog VGA)? Would there be a difference in quality compared from HDMI to HDMI to HDMI to DVI?

Nevermind, HDMI to DVI would do nothing for my situation. I'm only having these sparkling problems on console games, not the PC itself.

Well, I returned my faulty LPL_ today at Best Buy, and lucked out with the GOOD MODEL Sam_LTM. 5 minutes on and I can see a huge difference in quality between the panels. Contrasts look insanely better, and best of all, NO 1080p flickering.
