Warm. Logitech Harmony 550 for $49.99 with Free Shipping at Best Buy or Local Pickup

I am guessing that this doesn't control an HTPC, does it?

seems like a good deal, I'm on the fence wieghing my annoyance with multiple 'motes...thx op

I purchased a 550 last year around this time for that price.. it's a nice remote. I have it controlling a TV, DVD, XBox360 and Tivo.

all you need is a usb ir adapter to get that thing to control your pc, just an fyi this thing is an awesome remote

It's too bad that Logitech Harmony's suck. They introduce a lag that is very noticible to me, but not everyone. maybe 10-15ms but to me that makes it virtually useless for my DVR fastforwardjumping, guide browsing, etc. BUT... the activities feature makes it VERY easy for my girlfriend to get all AV components on and to the right inputs. n00b friendly for sure.

Ha! This was NewEgg's Shellshocker the other day for $59.99. It's pretty interesting when the Egg gets beat by *Best Buy* in price, but it's REALLY interesting when the ShellShocker is put to shame by the big box.

I just got back from picking mine up at best buy. At my store it wasn't "on sale" -- there were nothing indicating it at least. It rang up at $59.99 and I told the guy it was only $49.99 on the web site. He checked and told me, "I suppose we can match that" and gave it to me for $50.

Another reason to buy online and just pick it up!

Good deal -- and thanks! My old remote was dying and I needed a new one!

you know, after using a harmony 680 for a couple years, trying out this newer 550 isnt that awesome. the 550 looks better, seems better... but the first glaring drawback is the non-dedicated activities buttons. instead of one push, you have to push activities, then what option you want. doesn't seem like a big deal, but it makes a difference with everyday use.

also, its just slower then the 680. the delays between the actions are just slow. im not sure if it could be sped up in the software manager, but i doubt it. the 680 is much more like any other remote, and you dont find yourself holding your arm straight out for a long time waiting for the remote to finish all the commands. the 550 can take like 15 seconds it seems just to turn everything on!

but otherwise, its a well built and great looking remote... probably worth $50, but if you're willing to spend anymore get a better model harmony- there are much better options imo.

You can specify the amount of lag between on and next command, and between commands. Noticed the same thing with my FiOS HDDVR and after some options within the application, it's just as fast as the factory remote.

yes, thats exactly what logitech wants you to think by setting 0ms delay between commands, but there is no way its 0ms. trust me ive messed with the software settings for hours, no way around the lag introduced by these remotes. either you aren't sensetive to the delay, or your factory remote also has this 10-15ms delay.

Or maybe your brain is slower than his brain.

Thanks OP! I got one of these to control my system a while ago, and I've been wanting to pick one up for my parents. At this price it'll make a perfect Christmas gift.

Just picked one up. Be warned though, I had the same situation as someone above me had posted. It's marked in store (and rang up) as $59.99 so I had to tell the cashier that it was listed as $49.99 on their website. Once I did that she was able to knock the price back down.
