How's the system's performance at stock settings?

well what it is i hear everybody can up the speed to around 4 ghz this is my 1st major gaming rig i know abit about computer but not the bios side of it just being stright it seems okay when i play looks very nice but if i can get more speed what the hell why not

If you can't even get your feet wet (make mistakes yourself) then how are we supposed to help you? My bios settings won't work in my friend's rig and he has the exact same mobo, cpu, and memory. How are we going to give you all the magic answers?

You are right you do have to get your feet wet but you don't toss a baby into a pool of water and say swim. You give them pointers and assist them through the process until they get it. OP I don't have an I7 setup so I wish I could help.

It's more like... we're trying to show the kid that the lake exists, he says he knows what a lake is, but he's never seen one. We want him to see the lake for himself. lol

Eh...just keep increasing the speed until your machine won't boot up then reset the CMOS and it do it over again, heh.
