G4saurus Defectus

Well being an Nvidia fanboy myself, the first thing that came to my mind was, "Is that Kate Beckinsale?"

Wow, that's hysterical.
Although, don't you think they are oversimplifying?
g200 uses a wide enough buss to negate most of the advantages of using a narrower bus with much faster memory.
It is significantly larger in size, but trades blows with a smaller chip that has 40% less transistors.

Btw, i'm quite happy with my gddr3 8800gts 512mb.

Things should get interesting with 55nm die shrink and ddr5 on the gt series. But who knows, lord knows its not going to be a 200 dollar gtx260 216 ddr5 at Xmas time.

:)

I hope that nVida leaves its inventory so it can make a response.

I'm a video card switch-hitter: I go with the best bang for the buck as my primary buying point, brand name as the secondary and GPU maker as the tertiary point. The video was pretty damn funny, had to watch it twice to catch all the euphemisms used. Would be interesting to see a retaliatory video from G4saurus LOL.

totally loving it! I am loving the fact that some of you fanboys are taking it to heart seriously.

Really? You can't take it funny at all? I guess you are heartless, hahaha!

'OH WELL I HATE ATI, YOU'RE LOSING MY BUSINESS ^&^&*^&*!!!'

I thought this was pretty funny. In my days I have carried the touch for one or another company but some time ago I realized it just was not worth it. Its really not going to change my life enough to justify the time I spent. So know I go with the best card at the time and could care less who makes it.

I hope the others seem to have issues with this video can some day learn to enjoy things like this....

l too wait to see what the reply from nV is as I hope it will be funny as well!!!

hahah that's pretty retarded. i like it... i'll have to send it to some of them nvidiots running sli systems!

...oh, wait.. :p

It took me like a minute in to the video to get what they were talking about!

With your intro I was thinking AMD (not ATI) was talking about some Apple / intel based G4 or something.

Then when I saw Ruby, I realized it was GeForce-aurus. not G4 - saurus!

great vid. many lol's to be had.
one thing driving me nuts tho, anyone get the TWITM3BP on his undies? I know its from the The way it's meant to be played...

They forgot to show the part where Ruby's at work and only doing half of her job until somebody comes along and beats her with a stick well after the fact.

Video was worth some cheap lulz, but considerably more rage at all the Apple-style BS popularity marketting. Of course, maybe if ATI's drivers were worth a damn they wouldn't have to make this kind of video.

My favorite feature of "the newer competitive species" are the shitty fucking drivers.

Seriously, AMD's behaving like apple... We never caught nVidia really gloating when they were dominating the HD2900s and 3800s.

Oh WTF EVER...Clearly you were not one of us poor suckers Stuck with the 8800GTX when it first released and Nvidia's utterly craptastic driver support for Vista for over 3 months.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't owned an ATI card since previous to the Ti4600. But with 88xx series from Nvidia after I dropped $600 and got no support and basically told to piss off I had my fill. I bought a 4870 and like it very much and it kicks the crap out of my 8800. Won't stop me from buying nvidia though. If their card is the best when I upgrade again I will, but to pretend they don't pull the same crap is laughable.

"Category: Education" :D

I still have to go with Nvidia though for driver performance and stability in 3D modeling and animation applications.

nvidia drivers are the only thing that has ever blue screened me or given me an error in Vista. I like the drivers on x1800xt a lot more.

I loved it! Especially because I have a 9600gso. $50 bucks from Newegg after rebate, which I received last week BTW... Rock on, ATI!

I thought the video was pretty frickin' entertaining. I've been a member of both camps and they both sucked really badly at one point.

I thought it was cute and much more entertaining then the usual ads. I think anyone who got uptight over it really needs to get out more. I mean really, you're defending a piece of metal, plastic and silicon. No one is insulting your mother. :-p

i would lol at that, until i built my server out of old parts, i only ever considered nvidia...

haha... wow. I returned my 4870x2 becuase of issues and got a GTX280 that has been issue free. I have always had better luck with Nvidia but that crap was funny. You NV guys having issues with this are the kind of ppl who need to learn to laugh at them selves. Life is to short to take this shit serious. I would rather laugh until im dead. This made my day.

Definitely entertaining! Thanks for that Kyle, I needed a laugh today.

I too was thinking about Phenom until about halfway through the video, then they started spitting out model numbers and it all fell into place.

I have bought both, and generally go for bang/buck ratio, but ATI's bad drivers following their 9800 generation cards left a bad taste. Games that even worked just a few driver releases before, later did not, Star Wars: KOTOR comes to mind. There were ATI driver problem threads a plenty on the boards, but the Nvidia threads were few and far between.

Nvidia may not have gloated when they were ahead, but what happened to their six month release cycle? The way I figure it, we are a year behind where we should be, for what? Nvidia profit taking?

And for those that are complaining about Nvidia's drivers during the Vista Launch, give me a break! New hardware, new Direct X 10, new WDDM in Vista, that's why they call it the BLEEDING edge! $600 notwithstanding, there were too many new components that haven't had time to mature. You want the latest and greatest? Deal with the bugs. You want reliability, wait six months to a year for hardware and drivers to stabilize. And for a new OS, Vista, I'd say a year and a half is about what it took.

Priceless, and I consider myself more an nVidia fan than ATI....but you know what?

Life is short, laugh when you can! :)

Well being an Nvidia fanboy myself, the first thing that came to my mind was, "Is that Kate Beckinsale?"

Yeah, it does sound like her. Whoever it is, I'd love to see the face for that cute voice.

how do you know this is planted by ATI themselves? It could well be a ATI fanboy, or even someone neutral just wanting to see some reaction.

either way, funny vid, I enjoyed it

That was an AMAZING video. So hilarious, love the way they made that video and "G4saurus", rofl
