What does lacking BD profile 2.0 leave you without?
Yeah i saw this tonight. I kinda dont know about memorex, isnt that one of the walmart brands?
blu-pay.
From what i'm reading Funai is a Japanese company with manufacturing facilities in China. They've made hundreds of products to date, top and bottom shelf products, both for high-end and no-name brands.Yeah, like I said it's great for the person who just wants to watch and who doesn't care about extra content but my major concern with this unit is firmware updates. And if it's a rebranded Funai good luck, their stand alone DVD Recorders were horrible.
i'm still waiting for this blueray go down $49.99 ... yes yes i'm cheap...
I picked one up. cant beat 139 right now, and who cares about profile 2.0. Im personally not a extra features person.
Already have 2 ps3s and needed 1 more BD player for the LCD in the formal living room, so this will work nicely.
You and me both. I might go $75 for a good brand, but probably not.
I heard that there's no way to update the firmware.
Kinda sucks since they keep updating blu-pay.
I've converted to the XB360 streaming/HTPC religion. I really don't even care about stand-alone players anymore. Rip (, convert if necessary) and watch. You and me both. I might go $75 for a good brand, but probably not.
Wouldnt it be nice if it could decode Dolby True HD?It has a USB port, so you'd update it with a memory stick.
This player has analog 5.1 out, which is something the BD35 and Sony S350 don't have. I don't know which formats it'll decode internally though.
...On the audio side of things, there is audio decoding from Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, & DTS-HD High Resolution and bit stream output, and Master Audio bit stream output. The Memorex MVBD-2510 also features 7.1 HDMI digital audio output and 5.1 analog audio output....
Wouldnt it be nice if it could decode Dolby True HD?
I personally prefer a PC drive but I will take either over degraded rips.
