Here are the details-

"Dell, a leading computer and monitor manufacturer, has come up with its new Purported SP2309 LCD Monitor. Sporting a 23-inch screen, this newly launched Dell Monitor comes with stunning features and specifications.

This powerhouse LCD Monitor comes with a 16:9 panel that deliver an exceptional 2,048 x 1,152 native resolution. Not only this, to add on it, SP2309 LCD Monitor delivers an amazing 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio with 98% color gamut. It provides a superb 2-millisecond response time.

Featuring a 2 mega pixel camera, SP2309 LCD Monitor comes with VGA/DVI/HDMI inputs. Boasting to provide exceptional video and audio effects, SP2309 LCD Monitor is worth all its price."

If I'm not mistaken this monitor will be using the same panel as the Samsung model due for release any day now, but some of the specs are different-go figure.

Yea, it has a webcam and HDMI, one thing I've notice is that Dell sure likes to change the base of monitors alot, round, "triangle" shape without the third line, and now round again. I was thinking of getting the Samsung since it was selling at Costco, but with the webcam and HDMI this looks like the better buy.

Hmmm wonder when the Ultrasharp WFP2409 will be coming out. I am really hoping it's LED backlit, though i doubt that'll happen.

Damn! They both look so sexy, but if I had to chose one, I would probably go with the Dell....

I just believe the Dell will be far overpriced compared to the Samsung model.

Retail price on the Dell monitor is $419.99. But I'm sure you'll be able to find it cheaper once its' actually released.

Oh wow! that's a surprisingly good price. Thanks for the info. In that case, I will definitely have to go with the dell.

Considering most decent 30" LCDs are 2x-4x the price of either one of these 23" monitors, you can probably get a lot better for your money. It wouldn't make sense to even have this as one of your options...

If you can afford a 30" then why would you even consider a 23" TN?

Because of the high resolution in a small, inexpensive package that has great response time.

But if you have the money, you might as well go for let's say...a Dell 30" Ultrasharp.

Then again, it also depends on what you are going to use your screen for. If you want maximum gaming resolutions, then don't go with the 23".

Uhhh... maybe because every time I click on a thread, you always claimed that you "about" to pick up a 30"? Uhh.. Yeah, maybe that's why.

If anyone's willing to spend $350+ on a monitor in the US, they should go get a 24" M/PVA panel monitor ... they are available around the $300-450 price range. A waste getting the 22" or 23" TN panels for over $350 unless you're a seriously hardcore gamer. And I do mean serious (bare essentials and max fps).

Every time, huh? I guess I've got a fanboy. Now, I know what it feels like to be ATI and Nvidia.

Just FYI, the 30" has ~2x as many pixels as the 23". 4.1 MP vs 2.3 MP.
I'd go with the 30" if only because it doesn't have a shitty TN panel.

But I would look at getting one of these for my little bro.

How is video card support for this? 2048 x 1152 doesn't seem like a standard resolution, and I know you can't set custom resolutions in Vista. Would something like this require a driver update to display correctly?

Which 24" M/PVA panel would YOU recommend and why?

I went with the Westinghouse L2410NM because of it's price/performance ratio. If you look around online, they can go for as little as $250 (admittedly I probably wouldn't buy from there) to around $500 or so. *Bay has some nice deals on them around the $400 range if I remember correctly. It's a S-MVA panel that was designed for use as a monitor or HDTV. I have it right now as my main (next to my 22" LG W2252TQTF) and the color reproduction/contrast is wonderful. Had some problems with the HDMI/DVI overscan issue (with NVIDIA drivers on my GTX 260), but it was fixed thanks to dark_reign in this post. There are better 24" M/PVA monitors out there, like the HP LP2475w, but they will cost you $600 or more; the Westy (or even the Soyo, to some extent) is a good price/performance deal IMO. The top vents on the Westy do run pretty hot though. AnandTech's massive LCD Thread seems to like that Westy too.

Also, I apologize if my first reply sounded too harsh, didn't mean it that way.
