Is the XFX9800GT a decent card fo normal usage. I don't play games. Use computer for Web editing, Word and Excel and Web browsing. I currently have a XFX8800GS and it does everything I need very well. I can get the XFX9800GT for $99 after $30 rebate

Decent card, but the 8800gs is already overkill for a non gaming computer imo. You'd be fine with an 8400gs even.

No need to upgrade at all.

yeah upgrading is a total waste of time, you could run onboard graphics(if you had them) for your apps and be happy.

I'd consider downgrading your card to something like an 8600GT you'd save power and might be quieter.

I would just keep the 8800GS on the off chance that you might play a slightly older game someday (Oblivion or something like that). You never know.

If you have $100 to spend, then buy another 4Gigs of RAM. It will make VMWare or MS Virtual PC run much better and allow you to virtualize your Web environments.

PS: This assumes you have Vista 64. If you dont, then take your $100 and buy CoD4 and Orange Box and enjoy that 8800GS you have.

EDIT: Just saw your sig, and you use Vista 64, so get another 4 Gigs of RAM.
