NOTE : This may be a unique 9800GT. No other Palit 9800GT Super has the same box art or a RED PCB. My doubts are that this is from a new stock and manufacturing process and could be a 55nm 9800GT

BTW What is the die size on 55nm G92 ?

anyway to know if this is 55nm except measuring the GPU ?

Look at that frog

Extra 512MB memory for all those mods for Oblivion, HL2 , and maybe FC2 .

Nice card....always liked Palit. Robofrog rocks.

Why are you selling the HD 4870 btw? I would think this would be a step down from that. Unless, of course, you're advertising. ;)

Good temps for stock cooler. Very good. A bit lower than what I'm getting but that's with an HR-03 GT...

one thing contributing to that fact could be that this is 55nm. I'm going to check it soon .

otherwise Palit Coolers are real nice

Nice card. The new 55nm 9800G is perfect for a 19-22" LCD as long as the pricing is right (around $100.00). GPU-Z will tell you the nm stat.

no it wont, Nvidia did not not change the bioses for 55nm parts, most of the code is similar to a 65nm bios. So the GPU-Z does not know if its a 55nm or 65nm part and reports it as 65nm part

Got to pop the cooler off to know for sure.

I bought one of the 55nm Evga Hybrid 9800GT's and GPU-Z reports it as 65nm.

I see, well then if your temps are what you say they are then that might likely tell you that it's 55nm, unless the cooling is really that effective. I recently built a system for a customer with an eVGA 9800GT that also got very good temps (about 43 idle and 60c load) unlike it's hotter running 8800GT brethren. I assumed it must have been 55nm since it was getting those temps via the smaller stock HSF.

Taking the cooler off is the only way to know. I replaced an 8800gt with an Asus 9800GT that was reportedy 55nm by multiple sites. I wanted the Hybrid Power feature, for my Nvidia 8200 based HTPC) and figured the lower power consumption/heat from 55nm would be a plus as well. The 9800GT ran about 30C cooler, consumed just slightly less power, but scored a few thousand points lower in the assorted 3Dmarks. I messed with it for a few days and ended up deciding to take the cooler off. When I did I found it was a 65nm G92 not a 55nm G92b.

I was dissapointed but not pissed since I made $10 on the upgrade, now have Hybrid Power(which is awesome! 23w idle consumption), a cooler running card (Zalman style pinwheel instead of reference), and a silent cooler instead of a leaf blower. Leason: Dont believe everything you read in forums, just check for yourself.
