Thinking about a large screen purchase.

I currently am running an old trinitron monitor, but while I do love it, I have been longing for something a little more modern. I honestly don't do much on my PC but play games, but I am a somewhat picky person when it comes to black levels/colors. After extensive reading on LCD monitors, I honestly can't bring myself to spend any money on one. Even very high end models it seems that you just can't get the best of both worlds when it comes to lag and color/black. Besides that, just reading these and other forums, it seems that even high end models are plagued with problems.
I am now thinking to buy a moderate size plasma tv instead and sidestep the LCD problem altogether. I can just mount it on the wall behind my CRT and dual purpose it. This is looking more and more attractive, especially given the price of a plasma tv is competetive with mid-high end monitors. Does anyone have any REAL experience with plasma hooked up to a PC?

I would appreciate if replys were kept to legitimate experiences rather than FUD/rants/ridicule.

Well I just bought a 42" plasma the other day, should be here wednesday. I tried it out in CC with my laptop and was amazed at how clear the text actually was compared to years ago. If I remember I will post back here with how it goes.
